Wands at the ready! The Book Bungalow is bringing the wizarding world to life for Harry Potter Book Day 2025 on Saturday, October 11, at 2 PM. This free community event transforms the beloved downtown bookstore into a portal to Hogwarts, complete with Platform 9¾, magical games, and a Triwizard Tournament.
After entering through the enchanted platform and signing in, visitors will be sorted into their Hogwarts houses by none other than Professor McGonagall. Wandmaker Petro Greggarian will be on hand to share wandlore and showcase his craft, while themed activities will guide participants through Diagon Alley, encounters with magical creatures, and other whimsical corners of the wizarding world.
One of the highlights is the Triwizard Tournament. Beginning at 5:15 PM, four lucky names drawn from the Goblet of Fire will compete for the title of 2025 Triwizard Tournament Champion and a special grand prize. (Contestants must be present at 5 PM for the drawing to enter the competition.)
While Harry Potter Book Day has become one of The Book Bungalow’s signature events, organizers note that reservations are lower than usual this year. Attendees are strongly encouraged to reserve their free time slots in advance, which helps staff manage arrivals and ensures everyone gets a chance to enjoy the magic.
The Book Bungalow, located at 94 W. Tabernacle St. in St. George, will also host other events throughout October, including Banned Books Week (Oct. 6–11), an author talk with Brooke Williams (Oct. 21), a community class on metabolic health (Oct. 24), and Local Author Night with Mark Foster (Oct. 25).
