Southern Utah Adoptable Pets: City of Mesquite Animal Shelter
The City of Mesquite Animal Shelter is located at 795 Hardy Way and is open for adoptions from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Mondays through Saturdays and from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sundays. Please call (702) 346-7415 during these hours to speak to the front desk, or visit mesquiteanimalshelter.petfinder.com. Animal Control may be reached by phone or voicemail at (702) 346-5268. Below are the pets currently available for adoption from the shelter.
Moshi
Moshi was found as a stray. She went into a foster home for approximately 3 months to have a litter of kittens and have them weaned. This was 10 weeks ago. She is now ready to be adopted to a loving family. She is very friendly and loves affection although she is a bit shy due to all of the changes in her life. She needs to gain weight from nursing the kittens, but she is still a beautiful little lady.
There are also a number of animals in foster care and being evaluated before they will be available for adoption. Please contact City of Mesquite Animal Shelter for more information about these pets.
Southern Utah Adoptable Pets: City of Ivins Animal Shelter
The Ivins Animal Shelter and Adoption Center is located at 474 N 200 W in Ivins. Please call Aggie at (435) 669-7043 or Friends of Ivins Animal Shelter at (435) 673-1718 for more information or to make an appointment. The adoption fee is $25. The shelter’s hours are Mondays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesdays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Best Friends, in partnership with Friends of Ivins Animal Shelter, is sponsoring a “Bring Joy to Your World” adoption promotion during December. The adoption fee for dogs is only $25, and the adoption fee for kittens and cats is waived to approved adopters.
Cooper
Cooper is a very handsome boy. He is big, strong, and full of love. He loves to go for walks, play outside and just enjoy life. Cooper is young and still needs to be trained. He would a fantastic addition to an active family. Cooper really enjoys people but would prefer a home without cats, just to be on the safe side. Please open your heart and home to Cooper during this beautiful holiday season.
Taffy
Taffy is 9 months old, and her gender is uncertain; however, she has been referred to as a girl. She is litter-box trained. Taffy loves being scratched on the top of her head and between her ears. Taffy was left outside in the cold on Dec. 10 at the Ivins Animal Shelter and is currently staying with a Friends of Ivins Animal Shelter board member. Taffy brings her own supplies with her, and no adoption fee will be charged to an approved adopter. Please open your heart and home to Taffy during this beautiful holiday season.
Maris
Maris is a young girl under a year of age. She is just a beautiful and very sweet soul. She is spayed and current on her vaccinations. Maris is waiting on you to visit the shelter and rescue her as soon as possible. She wants to bring joy to your world this beautiful holiday season. Please open your heart and home to her today.
Gertie
Gertie is a beautiful cat. She is approximately 1 year old and already pregnant. She is ready for adoption but is open to foster care so that she is able to have her kittens in a home environment. FIAS would be responsible for her expense while she is in foster care. If you would like to adopt Gertie, FIAS will still be responsible for her needs until her kittens are born and will accept the kittens at the shelter when they are ready for adoption. Gertie deserves a second chance to have a happily ever after tale of love and happiness.
Ashley
Ashley is a beautiful girl but has returned to the shelter after a year of being in a home. It is a mystery why she refused to use the litter-box in her new home. Since she has been back in the shelter, she is using the litter box just fine. Ashley has been taken to the vet many times, and we are sure there is nothing physically wrong with her. For an owner, Ashley is a very loyal and loving best friend. If you would like to foster her to see if her behavior would improve, she would also appreciate being out of the shelter. As you can tell from her tipped ear, she was feral at one point, but she is very loving now.
