Domingo
Domingo spent part of his life in a dog-training program in a prison. He is very smart and knows over two dozen visual and verbal cues. Extremely obedient, Domingo loves to perform for his people. He is a high-energy guy and cannot live with cats or small dogs. His caregivers are working on introducing him to a few dogs his size, and he may be able to live with one in the future. Domingo was born in 2010 and came from a humane society in Washington State. He has some anxiety and an old leg injury from chasing balls. A handsome, friendly guy, Domingo can’t wait to start a new life with a person of his very own. Don’t live near us? You’re in luck! Domingo has a very generous supporter willing to pay to have him flown to his new home, anywhere in the U.S. or Canada. As part of our Single pets adoption special, Domingo also qualifies for free adoption! Single pets do best as the only pet in the home.
Cowboy
Cowboy is an adorable little dog with a huge personality. He likes to be a goofball and is very entertaining to watch when he’s exploring a new place or playing with his toys. He seems to be on his own mission, which he takes very seriously. Born in 2006, Cowboy is still very young in mind, body, and spirit. Although he tends to guard high-value items like treats and he is picky with his doggie friends, he has a gentle nature and is very affectionate. He loves to crawl into your lap for some extra love and attention. If you’ve got room in your life for a charming entertainer, Cowboy would love to meet you.
BamBam
You can’t help but melt when BamBam looks up at you with her soft eyes and a sweet smile on her face. Despite a difficult past, she has a lovely demeanor and love for all people. She’ll show that she trusts you by flopping onto her back and waiting for you to rub her belly. BamBam is fun to be around because she loves to frolic around with her toys and make people laugh. Originally seized from a home, BamBam came to Best Friends from a shelter in New Mexico. Born in 2014, her body shows some signs of previous trauma. She sometimes leaks a little urine, but she currently takes prescription medication for it and is doing well. Because she has mobility issues, and she will need surgery on both hips, she’s not too big on going for walks right now. BamBam is picky about her dog friends and prefers having all the human attention to herself. She would love nothing more than a kind, gentle person and a safe, loving home to call her own.
Banjo
Listen to Banjo purr for a little while and you’ll start to understand his name. It doesn’t take long for him to start a song. He loves attention and being petted, and he lets you know it. He seeks love from anywhere it might be found: new faces, old friends, other felines, or even palling around with the pooches. Banjo is brimming with love for everyone! Banjo came to us from a rescue group in Texas. He tests positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. You certainly wouldn’t guess that by looking at him or listening to him. He has no visible signs of the condition. Besides being FIV positive, he has no health issues. And he’s still quite young, born in 2009. So if you like lap cats, Banjo will gladly take that spot for years to come.
Cabo
Meet one of the legendary “rafter cats” here at Best Friends. Cats like these make wonderful companions-from-afar. You can’t hold them or pet them — at least, not yet. But they think and feel and love, just like the rest of us. And if you give them the chance, they can be a real part of your home. They just haven’t had any experience being pets. Cabo came to Best Friends from a Utah shelter. Born in 2015, he gets along well with other cats. Shy cats like these have always been an important part of Best Friends’ culture. They have special spirits and deep personalities. And this beautiful cat would love to be a part of your life.
Dixie
Dixie is cautious, and that’s easy to understand. She was rescued from a hoarding situation in Nevada. She’s very curious about you from the first moment she sees you. When she works up her courage and makes herself brave, she’ll even welcome a little petting. She was born in 2005 and is completely healthy. Dixie is fine with other pets, though she runs away from anything if she gets scared. She’s got a gorgeous coat and a very intelligent gaze. She’s got her eye on you.

Lexi
Lexi is a 5-year-old blue-nose pit with a sad story. She was dumped out of a car and left in Las Vegas. Through her microchip, she was traced to an elderly gentleman who had Lexi for the first few years of her life but had to move to assisted living and re-homed her. Information on her stops at that point until she was dumped out of a car. She’s good with cats and kids. She needs work on leash training and staying around when not on the leash (she thinks you’re playing when she runs off). Other than that, she is an absolute peach. She is a complete snuggle bug who loves belly rubs and gives the best kisses with her giant tongue! She is so easy to love and has tons of love to give. A very friendly dog, she gets along with everybody. She’s been good with other dogs when the other dogs are somewhat calm. She hasn’t shown signs of aggression but gets too energetic when other dogs do and doesn’t realize how big she is. She has arthritis and has mild skin allergies. Her adoption fee is $125. For more information on Lexi or to make an appointment to meet her, contact Shayde at (208) 420-3764.
Sabrina
After being hit by a car, little Sabrina spent 8 weeks in a cast while her bones healed. She’s 10 years old but loves to adventure by car, trail, or river. Snuggles are her favorite, but she’s not a couch potato. Sabrina lives with several big dogs and enjoys their company. Never once have they heard her bark. Sabrina would be great in any home but, even with her cast off, she will still need tender care until her bones are strong. Sabrina does require daily medication for an enlarged heart but nothing stops this little dog from living life to its fullest. They are still working on house training, but the process is slow due to her broken bones. Sabrina sleeps through the night without urinating and does not urinate on the carpet but will on tile. Her cast may be at fault, and now with it removed, she’ll be more agile and move more easily. To meet Sabrina or find out more about her, contact Andrea or A.J. at (612) 756-2374. Sabrina’s adoption fee is $100 and she is also eligible for their Seniors Helping Seniors Program.
Bindi
Bindi is a border collie blend believed to be around two years old. She spent one night in a foster home after being pulled from the shelter to come to us. The foster parent wrote: “She loved my little boy and loves to explore the house. She did well in the crate last night and did pretty well with my dogs. She takes treats nicely and, surprisingly, she is very confident. I bet she’d make an amazing agility dog. She is very loving with people but seems to want to do her own thing around other dogs and doesn’t seem playful. I hope she finds a great home!” Bindi is a typical herding dog and will require an owner with experience. She is not good for a first-time pet owner. If you are interested in doing dog sports, they believe Bindi would excel at that. BAM is taking applications at this time for Bindi and she will be available to be placed once she is spayed. Go to BAMutah.com and you will find the application embedded in the text under the Adopt section. You can download it, fill it out and send to J@BAMutah.com or call (435)773-5209 to find out more about her. Bindi’s adoption fee is $125.
Chico
This adorable little dog was born to be a lap warmer. Of course, Chico also likes to do other things, like play, ride in the car, sleep on your bed with you, and be a best buddy. He did have to have his left rear leg amputated when it did not heal correctly after a break, but he doesn’t seem to miss it and gets around just fine. He’s a friendly, loving little guy just waiting for his forever family. To find out more about Chico, contact Phyllis at (435) 705-9227. His adoption fee is $125.
