Sargeant Simonsouthern utah adoptable pets Sargeant Simon

It takes time to get to know him, but once you’re in his inner circle, Sargeant Simon is a sweet and goofy boy. Born in 2012, he’s wiggly and playful like a puppy and loves a good game of fetch or tug-of-war. Simon is also very smart. He excels at training and knows sit, down, shake, bow, pick up, fetch and touch (where he’ll touch his nose to your hand on cue). He’s crate and muzzle trained and has excellent leash skills. He’ll walk calmly right next to you and does not pull. Sargeant Simon has a fear of strangers. He can be reactive toward people he doesn’t know, especially when he is behind a gate or other type of barrier. He needs slow introductions in order to be successful. Simon is also picky with his doggie friends, but he is able to have play dates at the Sanctuary with those he likes. He is on medication for minor pain but is otherwise healthy. If you have the time and patience to show Simon you want to be his best friend, he would love to have you in his life.

Petersouthern utah adoptable pets Peter

Peter is a big, goofy dog looking for a person or a family who’ll spend some quality time with him. He loves to do training and really enjoys doing activities where he can use his mind. Peter is perfect on a leash and loves walking with people. He also enjoys car rides and playing with toys. He’s been good with all the dogs he’s met at the Sanctuary, and he likes to roll around and wrestle with them. Born in 2015, Peter is an active dog, but he doesn’t have to be doing something constantly. He’s a sunbather who really likes being outside and lounging around with people. Peter does have anxiety, especially when he is left alone. He can climb a six-foot fence and trees to escape a yard or enclosure. He lost his previous home because he kept escaping and wandering around the neighborhood. He’ll need to find a home where he can be kept safe and secure at all times.

Pikesouthern utah adoptable pets Pike

Pike may be shy and fearful with people, but once she gets comfortable with you, she is very sweet. She’ll even seek attention and get a little goofy. Born in 2015, Pike came to the Sanctuary from a Best Friends Network Partner shelter. At Dogtown, she is working on building her confidence and social skills. She is nervous about car rides and currently needs to be picked up to get inside a vehicle. She has been nervous indoors, too, so she stays outside a lot. Although she’s a picky eater, she will guard her food as well as her toys. Pike has done well with all dogs she’s met at the Sanctuary and is playful with her doggie friends. She walks wonderfully on a leash and enjoys her walks. Pike is looking for an understanding person or family who can continue helping her build confidence and learn about the world.

Mirandasouthern utah adoptable pets Miranda

The beautiful Siamese girl with blue eyes will chirp and follow you around. She loves food and treats! She’s very social and enjoys the attention but she’s not needy she enjoys the company of people but is also fine by herself. Miranda has been attacked by other cats before, so she can be very skittish around them. She was born in 2013 and came from a shelter in Utah. She’s a very sweet and gentle cat. She’d make a great addition to a home where she felt safe.

Jamaicasouthern utah adoptable pets Jamaica

Meet one of the legendary ‘rafter cats’ here at Best Friends! Cats like these make wonderful companions-from-afar. You can’t hold them or pet them–at least, not yet. But they think and feel and love, just like the rest of us. And if you give them the chance, they can be a real part of your home. They just haven’t had any experience being pets. Jamaica came to Best Friends from a Utah shelter. Born in 2012, he’s in good health, and he gets along well with other cats. Shy cats like these have always been an important part of Best Friends’ culture. They have special spirits and deep personalities. And this beautiful cat would love to be a part of your life.

Bluebellsouthern utah adoptable pets Bluebell

Bluebell was born in 2006. She had a home for 11 years and was given up. She has had a hard time adjusting to life here at the Sanctuary. She’s starting to come around to people, though she seems to like men a little more than women. She will let us pet her a little, but she’s easily overstimulated. She’s not used to living with other cats and she hisses and swats at them. Bluebell has no health issues, but we have her on medication to calm her, and that is helping. She is hoping to find a gentle man to take her home and keep her forever.

Lucky is about 5 years old and Charm is thought to be about 3 years old. Charm is the more outgoing of the two but Lucky also enjoys attention and being loved. They are very sweet, quiet little dogs who would enjoy being part of a family. They would be good with older, respectful children but toddlers may be too much for them. They are great with the other dogs at That BAM Place and Charm enjoys playing with the other little ones from time to time. The adoption fee for Lucky & Charm is $250. To meet them call (435) 773-5209 or stop by That BAM Place located at 44 W. State Street in Hurricane, UT.

Jasper is just the cutest little dog. He’s shy but once he gets to know you and trust you, he is your good buddy and will come to you for affection, to be held, to sit by you, to go for a walk with you and a car ride. He’s just an all around good boy. He’s good with the other dogs here at That BAM Place and will interact with the large and small. He’s good with respectful children but he is little and could easily be hurt if children were too rough with him. At our adoption center, Jasper does not soil his kennel. He’s crate trained. His adoption fee is $150. To meet Jasper call (435) 773-5209 or stop by That BAM Place located at 44 W. State Street in Hurricane, UT.

Jon Bon Jovisouthern utah adoptable pets JON_BON_JOVI

Jon has never-ending happy tail wag, loves to go for short walks, loves lap sitting and playing. He gets along with other dogs but would prefer dogs his own size or dogs that don’t play too rough. Jon is a volunteer favorite because of his happy attitude and is believed to be approximately 5 years old. Oh, did we mention that Jon love to talk–not bark. Although he can and will bark, he just loves to talk to the people around him. It’s very endearing. He is a wonderful little dog who loves interacting with his person. He’d make a great pet for adults or respectful children. Jon would not be able to physically hold his own with rambunctious children or toddlers, Jon suffered some pretty severe medical neglect at one time in his life. He had two broken rear legs and a broken pelvis. All have healed at this point but they healed without medical intervention. Jon’s left rear leg looks awful but causes him no pain and amputation is not recommended as he does use it occasionally for balance and it helps, on occasion, to support his other healed leg. Jon does not require any additional medical care for his past injuries but the vet does caution that he should be kept on the slim side and not be allowed to gain weight. His adoption fee is $125. To meet Jon, call (435) 773-5209.

Sabrinasouthern utah adoptable pets Sabrina

After being hit by a car, little Sabrina spent 8 weeks in a cast while her bones healed. She’s 10 years old but loves to adventure by car, trail, or river. Snuggles are her favorite, but she’s not a couch potato. Sabrina lives with several big dogs and enjoys their company. Never once have they heard her bark. Sabrina would be great in any home but, even with her cast off, she will still need tender care until her bones are strong. Sabrina does require daily medication for an enlarged heart but nothing stops this little dog from living life to its fullest. They are still working on house training, but the process is slow due to her broken bones. Sabrina sleeps through the night without urinating and does not urinate on the carpet but will on tile. Her cast may be at fault, and now with it removed, she’ll be more agile and move more easily. To meet Sabrina or find out more about her, contact Andrea or A.J. at (612) 756-2374. Sabrina’s adoption fee is $100 and she is also eligible for their Seniors Helping Seniors Program.
