Rellasouthern utah adoptable pets Rella

Rella has a gorgeous coat and endearing eyes. She is shy at first, but she will make you feel very special when you earn her trust. Although she was born in 2008, she is just learning how to enjoy walks and is discovering new things in the world around her. Rella came to Best Friends from a shelter that was closing and may never have had a home of her own. She is looking for a home with someone who has the time and patience to guide her. She would also appreciate the company of a kind dog who can show her the ropes in a new home. Rella has a generous sponsor who will cover her adoption fee.

Jakesouthern utah adoptable pets Jake

Jake is a fun dog who loves learning new things. He’s already a rock star at agility training and is always up for a new adventure. Although Jake is shy and fearful with strangers, once he trusts you he is eager to please and will be your best friend. He adores the people he knows and is very loyal. He’s also incredibly smart and loves other dogs at the Sanctuary. He would love a dog friend in a home, but he’ll need one who will play with him and appreciate his high energy play style. Jake was born in 2017 and is looking for an active home with an understanding person or family. It takes some time to build relationships with him, so a quiet home that does not have a lot of guests would be best. When guests do come over, Jake should be separated if the new person has not had a chance to build a relationship with him first. At the Sanctuary, Jake is working on meeting new people and maintaining those relationships. He’s doing well and has already made many friends. He is also working on doing trades for his food bowl and other high value objects to prevent food guarding. If you take the time to get to know Jake, fun, and adventure await.

Lobosouthern utah adoptable pets Lobo

Lobo is as smart as he is handsome. He’s always eager to learn and enjoys his training sessions. He’s got plenty of energy and would do well in an active home, but he’s also affectionate and likes cuddling up and being a couch potato. Although Lobo had issues with strangers in his last home, he has liked every person he’s met at the Sanctuary. Lobo can jump fences, so he’ll need a home with a secure enclosure and a person who can keep him safe. Lobo has been successful meeting dogs his size on walks and for play dates at the Sanctuary, but he has shown aggression toward small dogs in the past and would do best as the only dog in a home. Born in 2011, Lobo has chronic pain in his back end. Because of his pain issues, he is sensitive with handling and has bitten in the past. He is likely to be most successful in an adult-only home with a person who can give him the exercise he needs. At Dogtown, he’s working on learning his manners, getting more comfortable with handling and interacting successfully with other dogs.

Ameliesouthern utah adoptable pets Amelie

An adorable, petite cat with two different-colored eyes, Amelie is unique. This active cat loves to play with her feline friends, toys and any bits of fur or cardboard she can find. Rescued from a hoarding situation in Missouri, she’s slightly skittish around people, but definitely coming around. Born in 2010, Amelie is in overall good health. She seems to get along with male cats but not other females. Amelie is looking for love that lasts a lifetime. Could you be the one she’s waiting to meet? As part of our Single and Loving It adoption campaign, this pet qualifies for a waived adoption fee and a free flight home, anywhere in the US or Canada!

Calistasouthern utah adoptable pets Calista

With a fondness for sunshine, warm breezes, and water fountains, comely Calista is a flower waiting to bloom. The calico domestic longhair lost her home when her family couldn’t care for her anymore. And though she is shy around people, with patience, she opens up. Calista is also a bit bashful at first with other pets she’s not interested in being at the center of their action but she gets along just fine with her feline roommates. Born in 2009, she’s in great health, mellow, and laidback. She’s a sweet and independent soul who adapts well.

Nenetsouthern utah adoptable pets Nenet

It’s easy to see why Nenet was named after an Egyptian goddess. She has silky black fur with a white diamond on her chest and white tummy. Nenet is a sweet girl who welcomes affection from people and gets along great with other cats. Despite a broken leg that wasn’t treated in time, she walks, runs and leaps without discomfort. In fact, she loves to go for walks on a harness and leash. She is on medication, though, and gets eye drops every other day. Born in 2009, she came to the Sanctuary from an Idaho rescue group that ran out of resources. Nenet likes to play and enjoys petting and sunbathing. Most of all, she loves attention and hopes to find a home with somebody who will give her lots and lots of affection. If this little black beauty would make your home happier, Nenet can’t wait to be your new best friend!

Bellesouthern utah adoptable pets BELLE

Belle is a beautiful, sweet, active and typical hound dog. She gets along well with people and dogs of all sizes but might chase cats and other small animals. They are told she is housebroken. They think she’s approximately two years old and, like all youngsters, can be absolutely wonderful and a little bit naughty all at the same time. Belle is proud of her athletic skill at the high jump and will require a 6-foot fence. Belle is not spayed yet but BAM is taking applications on her and would consider a foster-to-adopt home for her so she can get settled in her new family as soon as possible. She did ask Santa for a family for Christmas. To meet Belle, call (435) 773-5209.

Triosouthern utah adoptable pets TRIO

Trio is approximately 5 years old. She is a sweet German Shepherd blend who is really a relaxed, happy dog. She likes walks, car rides, stuffed toys, bones, and people. She’s a typical GSD and can be aloof until she gets to know you. She was seen being put out of a car in California and tied to a pipe. The car drove away and did not return even though folks waited for hours for them. Trio was taken to a shelter where, because of her crippled leg and because the shelter staff said she was a senior, she was facing death. BAM pulled her and they got her to a vet. X-rays revealed no break in her leg but an old injury that caused nerve damage and now she is unable to use her left leg much and is unable to straighten it out. The vet determined amputation would not be necessary. Trio is a gorgeous, well-behaved (except for pulling a bit on the leash which can be easily corrected with training) dog. They have not seen her with children but she has not demonstrated any behavior that would cause them concern around respectful children. To meet her call J at (435) 773-5209. Her adoption fee is $125.

Louiesouthern utah adoptable pets LOUIE

Louie needs a family that will love and cares for him in spite of his dementia and special needs. He has stage II Kidney failure and requires a special diet. Louie enjoys being held and sitting beside you on a couch. Louie is neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated and meets BAM’s Senior to Senior program requirements. Are you a family that is willing to give love and be loved even if it is time limited? If so, call (435) 773-5209.
