Steve
To know Steve is to love him, and everyone who meets him does. Steve is a very special pup, both in personality and in needs. He is very sweet, loves company, and will do best in an environment where his people are home a lot. He loves to hang out and loves to cuddle even more. Steve is great company, he is a constant companion. He loves to get out and see new people and enjoys a ride in the car. Steve likes to take a stroll, but he is not interested in really long walks or hikes. Steve is very quiet, just as much as everyone loves Steve, Steve loves everyone. He gets along with all people, cats and other dogs and even livestock. Steve has a seizure disorder that has taken some time to get under control, but with good veterinarian care and careful attention to his medication, the seizures are now under control. Steve requires two types of pills two times a day and he takes all his medicine like a champ (with a little peanut butter he will eat anything); in addition to that he gets a supplement (CBD oil) once a day in his food. His medication costs approx $76 a month. Steve lives in a foster home so to meet him submit an application and PAWS will arrange a time.

Remi
Remi is a sweet, 3-year-old calico; she is very cuddly and loves to play. Remi gets along with other cats and would make a nice family cat. Her adoption fee is $75.
Iris
Iris is a 1-year-old sweetheart, loves humans, does fine with other cats, and is beautiful. She is easygoing and looking for a human friend to cuddle up with. She will jump right into your arms and just be cradled. Her adoption fee is $75.

Ellie
Ellie is a fun-loving adult female Australian cattle dog mix. She loves people and is good with kids and most other dogs. She can be a little moody from time to time, so her ideal situation would be to be an “only dog” with lots of love and attention. Ellie is medium in size.
Maverick
Maverick is a fabulous dog! He is approximately 2 to 3 years old and is very well behaved. He knows how to sit and shake. He is good on a leash and good with other dogs. Maverick is such a good boy. Get in to meet Maverick and prepare to fall in love.
Galaxy
This beautiful girl is Galaxy. She is just about as sweet as they come. When you meet her, you will be hooked. She is a small Calico. She’s good in a home with other cats and children. She is currently at PetSmart waiting to be the center of your universe.

The shelter is closed on Sundays and holidays. They work very hard to keep their facility clean and their adoptable animals comfortable during their stay with them. Adoption fees are $20 for cats and $30 for dogs. The adoption fee includes a goodie bag and a certificate for a free health exam with either one of the veterinarians in Hurricane. All pets must be sterilized prior to being adopted.
Blue
Blue is everything you could ever want in a dog and then some! He arrived at the shelter because his owners were moving and could not take him with them. This slab of Lab just loves to play! Come in and meet Blue; no doubt as soon as he sees you, he will pick up a ball and be ready for a fun game of fetch! Blue is neutered and current on his vaccinations. He loves other dogs, cats, and kids. In addition, Blue is house trained. Looking for a playful, good looking, smart, affectionate, loving, and lovable dog to add to your family? Get on into the shelter to meet Blue today. And don’t forget the ball!
Duece
Deuce is a big, goofy boy who just wants to play and have fun! With that being said, he needs an owner who will be patient and consistent with him to help him be the very best dog he can be. He is smart and catches on quickly. Eager to please, Deuce will be an awesome companion with just a bit of training. Deuce is approximately 5 years old and will need to be neutered prior to going into his new home. This energetic, black-and-white mixed breed is ready to run and romp with anyone who can keep up with him. He is a large dog and isn’t aware of his size, so he may not be a good fit with little kids. Deuce would be great with someone who is very active and will take him out on long hikes. He would probably love to be out on a farm or ranch where he could have a lot of land to roam around on.
Davey
Davey is a very sweet, medium-haired male kitty who has been neutered and is current on his shots. This handsome boy loves to receive attention. He also enjoys playing with interactive toys. Davey has the cutest little white toes, too!
Oreo
This big fella is Oreo, and just like the cookie he is named after, he has a very sweet center! Oreo came to the shelter as a stray, so they don’t know anything about his past. He is a large tomcat, so we can just imagine the scrapes and scuffles he has been in. However, in spite of his rough exterior, this kitty enjoys a gentle touch and kind petting. Oreo uses his litterbox like a pro. He would love nothing more than to perform varmint control on your property. The reward for all of his hard work would be fresh food and water every day along with a nice warm and safe spot where he can nap. A gentle head scratch would sure be appreciated, too. Looking for efficient, adorable, and furry pest control? Oreo is the kitty for you. Get in and meet him today. Oreo will need to be neutered prior to going into his new home.

Dimitri
Dimitri is not only super handsome, he’s also extremely sweet and loving. He has a friendly, inquisitive nature and is just a super happy-go-lucky guy. Born in 2014, he’s an active boy, and he’s been great with other dogs at the sanctuary. Dimitri can be a little jumpy when he is excited, so at Dogtown he is learning to keep all four of his feet on the floor. He loves going for walks and playing with stuffed toys. Before coming to Best Friends, Dimitri was left by his people when they could no longer care for him. He’s hoping a forever home is in his near future.
Ehu
Ehu is a cool-looking dog with a happy, positive energy. He likes to play with some dogs and with people at the sanctuary. Though he was born in 2011, he has not experienced much in life and would love for someone to show him the world. Because he enjoys water and adventures, he would love to lead people through forests, rivers or valleys or up onto mountain peaks. Ehu came to the sanctuary from a Best Friends Network Partner shelter in Washington. He has anxiety and is shy and fearful with strangers. He’s shown some guarding behaviors, and because he will jump fences, he needs a home with secure high fencing. Ehu has a high prey drive and cannot live with small dogs or cats. He is selective with dogs his size. In Dogtown, he’s doing clicker training and having regular dog play dates and introductions. Ehu also goes for walks with new people and has been doing basket muzzle training. He would do best in an active and with a person or a family who has relatively good dog skills and experience.
Francesca
A sanctuary visit is preferred but not required. Francesca has lots of energy, an active imagination, and a strong desire to do everything at once. Born in 2015, she’s an ace at agility training. The sport helps her channel her energy and organize her thoughts. When she’s comfortable with someone, Francesca is a love bug. But at first, she can be shy and hesitant with a tendency to run when she is scared or uncertain. She’ll do best in an active home with a person who can give her lots of guidance and help her feel safe. Currently, flying is not the best option for Francesca, so she would like to find a home without cats within driving distance of the sanctuary.
Daisy
Poor Daisy is still so very shy. She came to Best Friends after her person passed away. She has a longing in her eyes to connect with someone. But then all of the activity, so many cats and people, frightens her, and she bolts away. It’s taking her time to settle in, especially when she misses her person so badly. Born in 2005, Daisy would love the chance to live in a peaceful home where she can relax and get to know you. Is there someone who can help this sensitive kitty?
Elmo
Elmo came to Best Friends as a very shy stray, but lately, this big, mellow boy has been getting braver when it comes to accepting human affection. He gets along great with other cats, and he’s always wearing a dapper tuxedo. Born in 1999, Elmo is long overdue for a chance to meet someone. If you let him blossom in his own sweet time, he promises to be a nice, soft presence in your home. Elmo is a Caturtle, also known as a shy cat who comes out of its shell in a home. Caturtles are free to adopt and can fly to their new homes for free anywhere in the U.S. or Canada.
Furgus
If cats could talk, they’d call him Mr. Congeniality! This orange tabby loves to play and snuggle with other kitties, and they love him right back. Quite an acrobat, he’ll keep you entertained with his antics. But when playtime’s over, Furgus likes to relax in a quiet place where he can be at eye level with people. He’s still shy around humans, but letting us get closer and closer every day. Born in 2011, he came to the sanctuary from a rescue group and is in good health. Do you and your kitties need a new friend?

Paris
Paris came to the shelter when her owner could no longer care for her. She is a pretty orange-and-white spotted tabby. Paris came from a home where she had access to a doggie door. She is getting used to being an inside kitty. Paris starts purring the minute she sees anyone and walks around serenading everyone. Easily handled. Adoption fee is $40 and includes spay and rabies vaccination.

Walt
Walt is approximately 8 years old. He would like nothing better than to go on a walk with you, go for a run in the desert, be your companion, and then lay down at your feet at the end of the day (or in your lap … he likes laps a lot). Older children would be best for him, and he would also be a great pet for an older couple. Walt is well behaved in a house, and although he is crate trained, he prefers to live in close proximity with his humans. Walt’s foster mom says he is a great dog and he deserves a home of his own. Walt’s only problem is that nobody wants to adopt him because he has stage 1 kidney failure and requires a special diet. The vet says he could live a couple of years, or more, or less. There’s just no telling, but if you’ve seen the videos of him running in the desert, you would know he’s not ready to cash it in yet. Everyone who knows Walt believes he deserves a family. Are you a family that is willing to give love and be loved, even if it is time-limited? If so, call Corinne at (435) 760-3414 and set up a time to meet him. You will fall in love with him … everyone does!
Chuck
Chuck is a happy, loving boy who wants to be with his human all the time, be it walking, on your lap, or sleeping. He is constantly tracking your location because he just wants to be near you. Chuck is approximately 4 years old and was surrendered when his human became sick and unable to care for him. He’s a great little walker and curious about his surroundings. Chuck seems to play well with other dogs close to his size but can be aggressive with larger dogs. A potential adopter who owns other dogs should arrange a meeting between Chuck and their dog to determine compatibility. Chuck should be in an adult-only home. He does not have the patience to deal with children. Chuck would do best with an owner experienced with opinionated dogs. To welcome Chuck into your family, contact Aggie (435) 773-1667 or Sue at (801) 554-3378. Chuck’s adoption fee is $125.
Baley
Baley, a German Shepherd in a Chihuahua body, ended up at a local shelter after his owner died, and there was no one to take care of him. He is a happy little guy who just wants a lap to sit on, a warm bed, some walks and car rides, and of course food and water. BAM does know that he shared a kennel space with another dog and is good with them, but they don’t know about cats or children. Toddlers probably shouldn’t be in the picture since he was in an adult-only home before, but older, respectful children would probably be fine. Baley is ready to go to a new family immediately. His adoption fee is $125. To meet Baley or find out more about him, contact Aggie (435) 773-1667 or Sue at (801) 554-3378.
Chico
Chico is approximately 3 years old and came to BAM with his buddy Pepe. He is very loving with his people and is just waiting for the right family so he can share his love and cute personality. His adoption fee is $125. To meet Chico, contact Ryan at (435) 680-6666.
