National Teacher Appreciation Day serves as a reminder to schools, parents, and the community to honor and appreciate the daily contributions teachers make to students’ lives. In celebration, Genevieve Draper has been selected by Kelly Educational Staffing as the Utah Substitute Teacher of the Year for the 2017–18 school year. Draper, a substitute teacher in the Iron County School District, is recognized for outstanding performance and service as a substitute teacher.

Employees across the U.S. have been nominated for this honor. Eligible substitute teachers have strong performance records and are recommended by school leaders. As a state winner, Draper will be honored at a recognition ceremony.

Substitute teachers work incredibly hard to ensure students are gaining the skills, knowledge and confidence to be successful in school and beyond. We want to honor our substitute teachers by recognizing their exemplary performance through our annual awards program. This is a unique opportunity to show our appreciation for the positive impact they have made in educational communities across the country.

Brigitte White is a staffing supervisor for Kelly Educational Staffing in Cedar City.
