“When Seconds Count” is the theme of the 2015 Jubilee of Trees to be held Thursday, Nov. 19 through Monday, Nov. 23, at the Dixie Convention Center. This year’s jubilee will emphasize the crucial window of time between injury and receiving specialized hospital trauma care that is critical in saving lives and preventing disabilities. This year’s jubilee will feature a variety of general admission and ticketed events. While the main jubilee starts on Thursday, a concert by the Bar J Wranglers will kick off the celebration on Wednesday evening, Nov. 18.

Dixie Regional Medical Center is currently undergoing the process of elevating from a Level III to a Level II Trauma Center. A Level II Trauma designation includes round-the-clock specialized treatment for the most critical of injuries. The Level II designation includes general surgery and emergency medical care as well as 24-hour immediate specialty care such as orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, anesthesiology, emergency medicine, radiology, and critical care.

The main attraction of the 2015 Jubilee of Trees will continue to be the designer trees which the public will be able to view as part of their general admission. Also included with general admission are the Enchanted Forest display of smaller trees, mini-trees, holiday wreaths, and festive dining displays.

Jubilee of TreesUnique holiday shopping will also accompany the event. The Dixie Regional Guild will be offering handmade keepsakes, and the Sweet Shoppe will be stocked with traditional homemade treats and sparkling gingerbread creations. Food concessions will also be available. The Kids’ Store and Kids’ Zone will offer crafts, activities, and Santa Claus.

The Bar J Wranglers Concert starts off the festivities on Wednesday evening. Beyond the general admission to the 2015 Jubilee of Trees, tickets are available for all related events, which will include a Chamber of Commerce Luncheon, the Gala Dinner and Auction, the Teddy Bear Picnic, and the Fashion Show Luncheon. Outside of these special ticketed events, general admission includes the displays, shopping and continuous entertainment. The final night of the jubilee will feature a Family Fun Night for the general public.

Besides the advancements being made and celebrated by Dixie Regional Medical Center, the 2015 Jubilee of Trees will offer some of its own new developments this year. New to the 2015 Jubilee of Trees will be mobile bidding. Anyone with a smartphone may pre-register and bid on silent auction items from their seats at the gala or from the comfort of their own living room. The fashion show and luncheon will also get a complete makeover.

“The Jubilee is a wonderful tradition of community generosity that has been invaluable to our hospital’s progress,” said Terri Kane, Vice President of Intermountain’s Southwest Region and CEO of Dixie Regional. “We are so appreciative of the incredible giving spirit of our friends and neighbors who have helped build our programs over the years.”

Community members can support the advancement of trauma care and neurosciences at Dixie Regional Medical Center by supporting the 2015 Jubilee of Trees.
