Art takes over the Kanab Center on Saturday, October 18, when the Kanab Arts Board presents the Kanab Arts Festival, a free, family-friendly celebration of local talent and hands-on creativity. From 10 AM to 2 PM, festivalgoers can explore live dance performances, free art workshops, drawing contests, a professional art show, a handmade market, and more, all designed to welcome every age and skill level.

The Kanab Arts Festival returns Oct. 18, 10 AM–2 PM at the Kanab Center with free workshops, live dance, a professional art show, a handmade market, and pro chalk artists.

This year’s festival adds a splash of street-side color with two professional chalk artists, Annamarie Geniusz and Jamie Vanderberg. Both will be creating large-scale works in the days leading up to the event around the Kanab Center area. Visitors strolling by are encouraged to say hello and watch the process unfold before seeing the finished pieces on festival day.

The Kanab Arts Board continues to grow the event’s creative scope while keeping it accessible for families and first-time makers. According to board president Claudia Thomas, 2025 marks the second year under the name Kanab Arts Festival, previously known as Redrocktoberfest, reflecting a shift toward a more colorful, art-focused experience. The goal is simple: support local artists and makers, and invite the whole community to make, watch, and take home something inspiring.

Whether stopping in for a workshop, browsing the handmade market, or catching a dance set, attendees can plan an easy, low-cost day out with plenty of opportunities to create and connect. Admission is free.
