Kanab Tour Company Keeps The Experience Alive!
Grand Opening – Saturday, May 29th, 2021
Little did the owners of Kanab Tour Company, Tiffany & Cory Unsworth, know what was coming in February of 2020 when they decided to purchase a 12,000 square foot building. They had dreams of enhancing their very fun dream job of guiding guests to beautiful areas of Southern Utah by implementing a coffee shop, bakery, and outdoor goods store into the mix. And then COVID hit. Tours were canceled, the crew was reduced to a skeleton, and thanks to a Payroll Protection loan, they set to work on the building, using whatever materials they could recycle. Old pallets were broken up to create wall features. Sample flooring from the old furniture store was used to create a floor for the commercial kitchen. Fixtures were procured through salvage sales. The “depression era” of 2020 brought out ingenuity, and little by little, the space was coming to life.
Once travel restrictions were lifted, Kanab Tour Company continued to offer the kinds of experiences they had specialized in since 2014. They offer hiking experiences to remote areas such as the Wave, Buckskin Gulch, and South Coyote Buttes. Other exciting options include OHV tours on back-country trails, such as the Hog Canyon Ride or the popular venture to Peekaboo Slot Canyon! Their guides help visitors get the most out of their visit to National Parks, whether it is through a guided experience up Angels Landing in Zion or an interpretive journey through Bryce Canyon or the North Rim.
Kanab Tour Co. also offers visitors rental options such as a 4-person Polaris Razr to explore the desert trails on your own, a Slingshot to cruise the highways on, Drones and GoPros to capture your experience outside, and more!
In the future, they will offer classes for locals and visitors alike. Topics covered will range from Geology to Astronomy to Poetry to Painting Landscapes! Watch for local experts who are ready to enhance your life with their knowledge!
Though it has taken longer than they would have expected, 2021 has brought the world a fresh start, and Cory and Tiffany and their amazing staff are excited to welcome guests to their new and renovated space! A Grand Opening on Saturday, May 29th, 2021 we will celebrate the additions of Sunny Creek Coffee and Kanab Outpost to the operations at Kanab Tour Co. headquarters, located at 681 E. Chinle Drive.
Sunny Creek Coffee specializes in sandwiches, soups, smoothies, cinnamon rolls, and, of course, coffee! They will be open for breakfast and lunch, serving from 7 AM to 3 PM. Kanab Outpost will carry brands such as North Face, Cotopaxi, Under Armour, and Hydro Flask, with many more to come. It will be a great spot to pick up camping gear or outdoor supplies!
The event from 10 AM to 3 PM will include live music performances, giveaways, and slingshot rides.
