“It is our great pleasure to collaborate with Cat Country each year on the Monday after Thanksgiving for this awesome event that has become a family tradition for many of our residents,” said Emerson Watanabe, Recreation Manager for the City of St. George. “This is a great opportunity to gather everyone together and feel the spirit of the holiday season.”

In addition to the countdown for the holiday lights, the festivities include:

  • Music by the Legacy Elementary School Choir, The Browns, and Sick String Circus.
  • An ugly sweater contest. Enter by texting “Ugliest” to 435-674-7014. Prizes include a $100 gas card, Dixie Direct Savings Books, or a 2023 Tuacahn Season package.
  • Photo opportunities with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus near the St. George Carousel.
  • Free hot chocolate and cookies will be available while supplies last, courtesy of Hedgehog Electric & Solar.

Radio personalities Aaronee Cottam and D.J. Tischner will emcee the event. Mayor Michele Randall and members of the City Council will lead the crowd in a few songs as Santa makes his way into Historic Town Square.

In addition to Cat Country and the City of St. George, event sponsors include Hedgehog Electric & Solar, the St. George Children’s Museum, and the Downtown Farmers Market — site of the annual Gingerbread Parade, on Dec. 17 from 10 AM to 2 PM at Vernon Worthen Park.
