On July 9 and July 18, local author and rancher LaVoy Finicum will hold a symposium and book signing for his new novel, “Only by Blood and Suffering: Regaining Lost Freedom,” and Shawna Cox’s book, “Last Rancher Standing.” The July 9 event will be in Kanab, and the July 18 event will be in St. George.

“Only by Blood and Suffering: Regaining Lost Freedom” tells of a family’s struggle to come together and survive in the midst of national crisis. It’s a stirring, fast-paced novel about what matters most in the face of crisis and chaos. Filled with gripping action and relatable characters, you will be drawn into the thought-provoking dilemmas the members of the Bonham family encounter. You may even find yourself stopping to ask, “What would I do?”

Finicum is a northern Arizona rancher who says he loves nothing more in life than “God, Freedom, and Family.” He not only wants readers of his book to know what freedom is but hopes they are left with the desire and determination to take a stand for freedom at all times.

“If you believe that your freedoms are being washed away,” Finicum says, “that the First, Second, Fourth, and Tenth Amendments of our Constitution are under attack, please join us at one of our two local symposiums and signings.”

Finicum will be at the Kanab Library, located at 374 North Main St., on July 9 from 7-9 p.m. The July 18 symposium and signing will take place at the Best Western Abbey Inn, located at 1129 South Bluff St. in St. George, also from 7-9 p.m.
