Lyndy Butler is slated for two local shows this weekend. The first show is Friday from 8-11 p.m. at George’s Corner in downtown St. George, where she will be performing with Steven Lemmon. On Saturday, May 2, Lyndy will be playing at Jazzy’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Grill, also in St. George. The music starts at 8 p.m. with a $3 cover charge.

On her website, Lyndy proclaims that she is a stay-at-home heart and gypsy soul who mixes motherhood, musicianship, and all the joy and pain of everyday life delivered with lighthearted energy and unquestionable soul.

With musical influences all over the place, some of her most notable are Bob Dylan, Carole King, and her ultimate favorite, Bradie Carlie. She also really digs JJ Heller and other Christian artists. Butler’s folky pop sound may reflect some of her influences, but the happy energy is all her own. Once she starts playing, there is an instantaneous connection between her and the audience.

Butler has traveled all over the West sharing her original tunes. She has opened for phenomenal acts like Utah’s own Fictionist, Nashville’s Due West, and Canadian Music Artists of the Year, The Abrams Brothers. Her originals have been recognized in several notable competitions, including winning the Grand Prize at the SoundCheck Series at Snowbird Resort and recently showcasing as a finalist at the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival in Lyons, Colorado.

Once Butler starts playing her beautiful melodies, singing her amazing lyrics, and radiating her happy energy, you’ll be hooked. Her authenticity is heart and soul capturing, as well as inspiring. She states her goal is “to always be making music; it is who I am.” It is musicians like Butler that makes music live.

George’s Corner is located at 2 W. Saint George Blvd, and Jazzy’s is at 285 N. Bluff St.
