Marie Osmond To Perform At The UT Campus Benefitting Student Scholarship Fund

ST. GEORGE, Utah — In celebration of Utah Tech University Foundation’s 20 years of raising support for need-based scholarships, the foundation is partnering with Solenté to present Marie Osmond in concert with special guest Daniel Emmet.
Marie Osmond’s performance, proceeds from which will be dedicated to needs-based scholarship funds, is set to take place on March 22 at 7:30 in the Burns Arena on the Utah Tech campus. This unique opportunity to see Osmond perform in St. George coincides with the sold-out 20th Annual Fire & Ice Gala, which will take place earlier that evening. The gala has a rich legacy of providing needs-based scholarships for Utah Tech University students.
“Utah Tech University Foundation is extremely grateful to Marie and Daniel for supporting our students,” Brad Last, vice president of advancement at Utah Tech, said. “Over the past two decades, the gala has provided scholarships to thousands of students who may not have been able to pursue a college education without financial assistance, and we are excited to add the concert this year.”
Osmond, who has spent over six decades entertaining millions around the world through the medium of records, television, Broadway, talk show host, dancer, actor, author, commercial spokesperson, entrepreneur, and public speaker, is a multiple gold and platinum-selling artist, garnering numerous Billboard chart-topping singles and albums.
In 2019, Osmond and her brother Donny completed an 11-year residency in Las Vegas by being voted “#1 Best Show” for Caesars Entertainment. Her latest release, “Unexpected,” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Classical Crossover Albums following its December 2021 release, re-entered Billboards Top Ten 29 different times and was No. 10 on the Billboard year end’s best-selling albums charts.
Emmet, who regularly tours with Osmond, was a top-10 finalist on “America’s Got Talent.” His first studio album debuted in the top 10 of the Billboard Classical Crossover Albums Chart and at No. 1 in the iTunes Singer/Songwriter Albums Chart. This past December, Emmet released his first holiday EP, “Christmas,” which debuted in the top 10 of the iTunes Holiday Chart, and his deluxe holiday album will release this fall.
“The significance of this event cannot be overstated, especially in light of today’s socioeconomic challenges,” Last said. “Our students need support now more than ever, and the Fire & Ice Gala and concert are critical in providing that support. We hope the community will join us in this much-needed cause and help make a difference in the lives of these deserving students.”
Over the past 20 years, the funds raised by the foundation have impacted thousands of students’ lives.
“I cannot explain how grateful I am,” Utah Tech student Madysen Marie Evans, who received a Fire & Ice scholarship, said. “My one struggle this year has been financial, and I’ve been very worried. This award has single-handedly saved my life, and I couldn’t be more blessed.”
