Evans brings an impressive background in art history, curatorial studies, and Western American art. Originally from Heber City, she holds a BA in Art History and Curatorial Studies and an MA in Comparative Studies from Brigham Young University, with a PhD in Art of the American West expected from the University of Oklahoma in 2026. She has held prestigious fellowships at the Charles M. Russell Center for the Study of Art of the American West and the Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Texas, while also contributing to projects at the Springville Museum of Art and BYU.

Her scholarship and curatorial work emphasize identity, memory, and place-making in Western and Native American art. At the St. George Art Museum, Evans aims to highlight the region’s rich artistic heritage while positioning the museum as a leading hub for art of the American West.

“It is a privilege to contribute to the legacy of the St. George Art Museum and to help shape its future as a vital part of this dynamic community,” Evans said. “My goal is to foster a space that celebrates creativity and culture, where the power of art to inspire, educate, and connect is felt by local residents and visitors.”

The St. George Art Museum, located at 47 East 200 North in downtown St. George, opened in 1997 in a renovated sugar beet seed storage facility. Today it houses a permanent collection of more than 1,400 pieces, and features rotating exhibitions that highlight both regional and national artists. The museum is open Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM and operates on a donation basis, with contributions directly supporting education and operating expenses.
