The Sears Art Museum at Utah Tech University invites art lovers to experience Bruce Beasley and Albert Dicruttalo: Mentor to Colleague, an extraordinary exhibition celebrating two of the Bay Area’s most influential sculptors. The show runs October 31 through November 5, 9 AM to 5 PM daily, and admission is free.

This thoughtfully curated exhibit traces a creative friendship that has evolved over decades—from mentorship to artistic partnership. Both artists, based in Oakland, California, are internationally recognized for their abstract metal sculptures that explore balance, geometry, and emotion through form and light.

Bruce Beasley, often hailed as one of America’s foremost abstract sculptors, is known for his complex interlocking structures that seem to defy gravity. His works appear in major museum collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Guggenheim Bilbao in Spain.

Albert Dicruttalo, once Beasley’s apprentice, has since become an accomplished artist in his own right, known for his expressive metalwork and bold exploration of texture and tension. Together, their works create a dynamic dialogue between structure and spontaneity, intellect and intuition.

Visitors can expect to see an array of striking metal forms—polished, weathered, and welded—each piece revealing the mastery and shared passion of two artists who have shaped and inspired each other’s creative paths.

The Mentor to Colleague exhibit is free and open to the public at the Sears Art Museum, located inside the Eccles Fine Arts Center at 155 S. University Ave. on the Utah Tech University campus in St. George.
