The IndependentDo you think outside of the box? Do you want to be part of a fun team? The Virgin Valley Theatre Group is looking for new members to fill a variety of positions for the upcoming 2015-16 season.
The Virgin Valley Theatre Group’s Board of Trustees has vacancies to be filled. Applicants do not need a background in theatre to serve on the Board of Trustees. Individuals who want to help in pursuing The Virgin Valley Theatre Group’s mission to provide high quality theater experiences to the Virgin Valley area, including live theater productions and related educational community outreach programs, are encouraged to apply.
A volunteer with experience in marketing is also desired. The marketing of each production has an enormous impact on the success of the show. Assistance is needed in planning marketing strategies and helping to execute marketing and publicity plans. Applicants with an artistic eye are being sought for the design of marketing materials. The group’s set construction crew is also accepting applications.
Founded on April Fool’s Day in 2002, The Virgin Valley Theater Group is a community of actors and volunteers in Mesquite, Nevada that welcomes all to come and participate in the wonderful world of theater. They emphasize educational community outreach. In 2014, they hosted a month-long workshop on Shakespeare and Shakespearean acting as well as a series of workshops led by award-winning choreographer and director Dan Nielsen.
Now in their 15th year, the Virgin Valley Theatre Group presented two plays in their 2014-2015 season: Katherine DiSavino’s “Nana’s Naughty Knickers” and Joe Landry’s “Vintage Hitchcock: A Radio Play.” Also included in this season’s repertoire was James Valcq’s musical comedy, “Zombies from the Beyond.”
