New Flavors on Tap: Edge of the World Continues to Evolve

Colorado City’s beloved Edge of the World Brewery is still breaking the mold in a town once dominated by the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Renowned for its welcoming atmosphere and signature craft beers, the brewery has expanded its offerings to include locally crafted spirits—thanks to a separate distillery operated by head brewer and brewery co-owner Ray Hammon in a different location. While the distillery’s official grand opening is still upcoming, curious patrons can currently visit by appointment only. In the meantime, the brewery features these new spirits in its signature cocktails, giving guests a taste of what’s to come.

New Menu, New Tastes

Since November 2024, Edge of the World has replaced its popular pizza menu with healthier fare, including burgers, sandwiches, and salads. Fans of Berry Knoll’s old favorites can still enjoy hearty local flavors, but the revamped menu aims to draw in a broader audience seeking lighter twists on classic pub dishes.

Beyond Brew: Cocktails, Lottery, and a Dog-Friendly Patio

Edge of the World isn’t just for beer enthusiasts. In addition to craft brews, the brewery serves cocktails, wine, and—courtesy of the separate distillery—house-distilled spirits featured in signature mixed drinks. For those feeling lucky, the brewery also carries the Arizona Lottery. And if patrons want to bring their canine companions, the dog-friendly patio provides a relaxed spot to enjoy scenic desert views.

Distilling Future Plans

Co-owner and head brewer (and soon-to-be head distiller) Ray Hammon has never shied away from innovation. Although the distillery operates independently and at a different location, it’s poised to boost the local economy and tourism scene once fully open. Until then, anyone interested in a behind-the-scenes look can schedule an appointment—no need to wait for the brewery to start incorporating the distillery’s spirits, which are already on the menu in specialty cocktails.

Upcoming Entertainment

Edge of the World Brewery keeps the fun rolling with daily Happy Hour from 4–6 PM and Ladies’ Night every Thursday at 6 PM. On the first Thursday of each month, visitors can enjoy Bingo, and the first Friday features Karaoke. Every third Thursday offers a special Ladies’ Night Karaoke, while the fourth Thursday is playfully dubbed “Trivia Tuesday.” Most Friday nights bring live music, open mics, or comedy shows to the stage, complete with rotating seasonal beers, cocktails, and food specials. – March 7 – Rio Virgin will deliver desert jazz for Mardi Gras season with special food and drink deals. – March 14 – The annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration kicks off with Stone Company providing lively tunes.

Looking Ahead

Though the distillery’s full launch date has been pushed back, visitors to the brewery can still enjoy the evolving food menu, weekly events, and trademark hospitality. Keep an eye on Edge of the World’s Facebook page for updates on the distillery, including new appointment availability, photos, and more announcements.
