‘The Force Awakens’ Movie Trailer
It’s a forgone conclusion that “The Force Awakens” is going to break box-office records. And even though “Star Wars” pretty much sells itself, J.J. Abrams, Lucasfilm, and Walt Disney Pictures have still seen it fit to grace us with a brand new—and presumably final—trailer. And it’s a doozy!
What’s truly special about this trailer, aside from it’s undeniably rousing and mythological nature, is that it manages to give us an impressive peek at how Abrams plans on expanding upon George Lucas’ iconic universe without telling us what “The Force Awakens” is actually about. Props to the marketing department for that.
Trailers and marketing tend to reveal a little too much these days, and it’s refreshing that the makers of a tent pole release of this size are doing what they can to insure that we don’t know “The Force Awakens” story beat for beat when we sit down to watch it this December. God bless Abrams and the mystery box for protecting the element of surprise where it pertains to the motion picture experience.
This isn’t to say that “The Force Awakens” trailer doesn’t give us anything. It does. Happily though, it refuses to give us everything. It’s more of a slightly extended version of the teasers we have been treated to over the past year.
Now, bask in the glory of a trailer that reminds us all what a magical time it is to be a “Star Wars” fan.
