In response to the devastating wildfires tearing through Los Angeles County, Salt Lake City-based O.C. Tanner has donated $10,000 to support the American Red Cross’s ongoing disaster relief efforts. The company’s timely contribution comes as thousands of residents remain displaced and relief crews continue to work around the clock in the face of one of the most catastrophic fire seasons in California history.

“We’re grateful for the Red Cross and all the emergency responders for the immediate aid they extended to those impacted by the devastating wildfires in California,” said O.C. Tanner President and CEO Scott Sperry. “At O.C. Tanner, our focus is on people and helping individuals, teams, companies and communities thrive.”

The wildfires, fueled by severe drought conditions, intense Santa Ana winds, and bone-dry vegetation, have already claimed over 30 lives and scorched thousands of acres—including neighborhoods impacted by the Palisades and Eaton fires. Entire communities are reeling from the damage, with recovery efforts expected to last for months or even years.

O.C. Tanner, known globally for its employee recognition software and workplace culture tools, has long held a reputation for community involvement and corporate philanthropy. The company regularly contributes to causes that align with its people-first philosophy and has supported the American Red Cross of Utah for many years.

“Support from organizations like O.C. Tanner enables the Red Cross to provide critical assistance and make a meaningful difference,” said Jeremiah Lafranca, Executive Director of the Red Cross’s Greater Salt Lake Chapter. “We are deeply thankful for their generous commitment to our lifesaving mission.”

On the ground, Red Cross volunteers are distributing vital supplies like water, flashlights, gloves, face masks, and cleaning kits. More than 100,000 relief items have already been provided to affected families. The organization is also offering financial assistance and collaborating with local governments and nonprofits to support both immediate needs and long-term recovery.
