On April 21 at 7:30 p.m., Orchestra Southern Utah will perform a concert, “The Rhythm of Dance,” showcasing a wide range of orchestral dance music at the Heritage Center in Cedar City.
The program includes J. S. Bach’s Symphony Suite No. 3, the third movement of Mozart’s Symphony No. 40, Johann Strauss’ “Radetzky March” featuring the SUU Ballroom Dance Company, Offenbach’s “Orpheus in the Underworld,” Dvorak’s “Slavonic Dances” Nos. 3 and 8, Teshan’s “Dance of the Yao People” directed by visiting conductor Qi Li, Balmages’ “Summer Dances,” and the world premiere of resident composer Keith Bradshaw’s “American Suite,” commissioned by the Barlow Endowment for Music Composition at Brigham Young University and the Orchestra of Southern Utah.

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students, and $30 for groups of up to 6. Because concerts are recorded, the orchestra requests that babies and children under the age of six not attend. Children over the age of six are welcome at all OSU concerts with adult supervision.
