Southern Utah’s most scenic race is back! The Parowan City Half Marathon – Yankee Meadow Run returns Saturday, August 2, 2025, delivering cool mountain air, stunning views, and one of the fastest downhill courses in the state.

Starting at the beautiful Yankee Meadow Reservoir, this high-altitude half marathon drops roughly 2,300 feet over 13.1 miles. The route follows First Left Hand Canyon Road for 7.5 miles before connecting with Scenic Byway 143, eventually winding through charming local streets to the finish at the Iron County Fair Building in Parowan.

This event is a favorite among runners preparing for fall marathons like St. George and Top of Utah thanks to its steady downhill grade and cool early-morning start. Temperatures usually begin in the low 50s and rise to the upper 70s by midday—ideal for a fast, comfortable run.

Shuttle service to the starting line is provided from the Iron County Fairgrounds between 5:30 and 6 AM—no private vehicles are allowed at the start area, so be sure to arrive early.
