As the new year begins and the last of the holiday sweets disappear, there’s no better way to shake off the winter blues than with laughter—and So U Comedy is back in January with plenty of reasons to smile. While resolutions come and go, improv is here to stay, and So U Comedy is ready to bring the laughs back to audiences throughout 2026.

January shows take place on the 3rd and 17th, featuring live, unscripted improv at the Electric Theater Center (upper room 2). The Family Friendly Show at 7 PM offers big laughs for all ages, followed by the Uncensored Show at 9 PM, where (almost) anything goes and younger audience members should sit this one out. As always, every performance is completely made up on the spot, fueled by audience suggestions and the quick wit of the cast—no two shows are ever the same.

January also marks the launch of a new initiative, Dare To Care. In the spirit of community and giving back, So U Comedy is partnering with a local nonprofit to raise funds in a way only improv can. Audience members are invited to nominate their favorite local nonprofit, then watch as cast members complete dares tied to specific fundraising milestones. The more that’s raised, the more outrageous—and hilarious—the dares become. From silly challenges to truly shocking moments, Dare To Care puts the power directly in the hands of the audience while supporting an important cause in the community.

The laughs don’t stop on Saturdays. So U Comedy continues to welcome newcomers at its weekly community practice, held every Monday at 7 PM at the St. George Rec Center. These open sessions offer a relaxed, encouraging environment to try improv, meet the cast, and learn the basics, whether participants are dreaming of the stage or simply looking for a fun, creative outlet.
