Bug

Meet Bug! Aside from being absolutely adorable, I am charismatic, loveable, and friendly — but don’t just take my word for it, my foster mom said so herself! I love car rides, naps on the couch, hikes, walks, and anything with humans! In fact, I would love to do these things with you and be your one and only. I need a home without other animals but don’t worry, my personality is so big and loveable that you won’t even want another pet! I should meet all the family members before heading home with you. Just us spending time together, doesn’t that sound like a dream? Well, I can make your dreams come true — just reach out to our adoption specialist and we can live happily ever after!

Connie

This adorable, extra-fluffy girl will steal your heart with her “nervous biscuit-making” habit. She makes nervous biscuits (kneading) when she feels shy but curious. She takes treats from your hand, makes nervous biscuits, and hides, then comes back for more treats. It’s the most adorable thing ever. Come by and see her today!

Simon

Hi, I’m Simon! I’m a shy but sweet boy who enjoys a gentle touch and a quiet corner to cozy up in. I have the cutest facial markings and a calm disposition. I would love a quiet home where I can blossom and form a trusting relationship with my new family. Will it be yours?

She absolutely LOVES kids and has gotten along with small dogs, a cat, and large dogs while in foster. She is loving, quiet, playful, energetic, and so soft! Like most girls, she would love a spa treatment, (after her surgical scar heals!). Aussies are super smart dogs, and Delilah is already potty trained, crate trained, and knows basic commands. There is no doubt she will make a wonderful companion.  Delilah is in foster and available for meet and greets by application only. Find your app and information about our rescue at rsqutah.org.

This Jewel may not be worth $14 million. She’s actually priceless. She’s a playful independent cat who gets along with other cats. While Jewel enjoys her daily head scratches she purrs away. Who will save her soul? Will it be you? Jewel will certainly make your life sparkle.

Introducing Pets to Each Other

Whether or not your pets get along depend on their personalities. Your current pet may view a new pet as a threat; there may be a few scuffles as each animal establishes his “place in the pack”. Do not interrupt them if there is no danger of injury, and provided they are supervised at all times.

Some pets will merely tolerate each other. Others will become great companions (like my own two dogs and cat). Here are a few tips for introducing a new pet into your home.

Always supervise your pets until you are absolutely sure they get along. Until then, separate your pets by confining at least one of them to its own room. Only allow them to interact with each other with your supervision. It may take them hours, days, weeks, or even months for your pets to adjust fully to one another.

Introduce your pets indoors in controlled situations. Keep your dogs on a leash and do not tolerate any aggressive behavior. If you are introducing a cat to a dog, do not allow the dog to chase or corner the cat – even if it’s out of playfulness or curiosity.

When introducing a cat to a dog, do NOT hold the cat in your arms. A frightened or nervous cat may scratch.

Allow your new pet to familiarize itself with its new home. Temporarily confine existing pets to a room to give your new pet a chance to feel more comfortable with its surroundings.

Give your pets separate food and water bowls. If you are introducing cats, also provide separate litter boxes. Feed your new and existing pets in different locations.

Be especially careful when introducing dogs or cats to caged animals. Dogs and cats can live in harmony with rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, etc… but please introduce them under strictly controlled supervision. Keep in mind that cats are very agile, so placing a cage high up on a shelf doesn’t necessarily protect the caged pet. Don’t take any chances – one mistake could be fatal to your caged pet.

Give them time. Do not try to force your pets together; allow them to adjust at their own pace. Give all your pets – particularly the new one – time to gain confidence and decide when to face his or her new housemates.

Wyatt

Wyatt is a 2 years old Karelian bear dog/husky. I was a little reserved and to be honest, scared the first week I was here. Now that I know it’s safe here I have become much more social. I am going to need lots of exercise and I am a little high energy when I first get outside but then I calm down and really soak up the lovin’ & attention that I am given. I sure am ready for my life to look up again and I can’t wait to find a family that I can rely on and love forever

Carrot

Look no further than Carrot. Just look at him and you will see where he got his name. Carrot is a 7-year-old cat with just the most charming personality. He’s definitely outgrown his exuberant kitten years and is now being mellow and taking things easy. He loves getting attention from people, he’ll even get up on his back feet and be a “gopher” to ensure he gets as much as possible. Carrot still enjoys playtime, but she prefers to spend his time just relaxing near his people, being brushed and adored watching them as they go about their day. He would make for a great sidekick while you read the paper or work on the computer or just lazing about the home. He needs to be the only cat in the home, please.

He is playful, gets along with other dogs, and loves people. Submit your application and be approved to meet this great puppy!

Kimber

Kimber is a very sweet cat who is about 5½ years old. He is such a sweet boy and very loving. He gets along with other cats and lived with a cat before he came to us. His owner passed away so he is looking for someone to love and cuddle with. He is playful, too. Kimber says to come in and meet with him so he can go home with you!

Jayna

Jayna is an 8-month-old beautiful Tabby & white kitten. She is playful, and sweet and is a favorite of our volunteers. All of our kittens are social and playful. Jayna loves to play with cat toys and other cats. She will be a great addition to any home. She is waiting to meet you in the PAWS Cat Room!

Bing and Chunk

Brothers Bing and Chunk were surrendered together and have rarely been apart since they were born 2 years ago and, although we would love for them to be adopted together, we think they’ll be fine separately.

Bing, named for his beautiful Bing Crosby eyes, is energetic, playful, and loves to chew (antlers and durable toys preferred). He also enjoys cuddling and giving kisses. Bing has some fear of riding in cars and freezes up and doesn’t want to get in. However, after just a few trips to the dog park with our fabulous volunteers, he’s already becoming more relaxed and has a great time once he gets there. Trips to other fun places should help him continue with his progress.

Chunk is a big softie who, as his name suggests, loves his food and very much looks forward to mealtime but he does fine eating with other dogs and has never shown any food aggression. He loves his snacks!

Both pups are good with other dogs, cats, and kids and will make a great addition to an active family. As puppies, Bing and Chunk may do better with older children who will make sure not to leave toys laying around. (Did we mention both do love to chew and will need supervision since they will swallow toys if allowed.) Both Bing and Chunk would benefit from some training as they can jump and be mouthy when excited and haven’t had much experience walking on a leash. They need a loving family with room to play and time to help socialize them.

Crimson and Clover

Born September 21st, these sweet puppy sisters are available as foster to adopt until spayed on January 17th at which time their adoption will be completed and either pup will be all yours. They display normal puppy behaviors so will need all of the normal training. As with all BAM dogs, their adoption fee includes vaccinations, spaying & a microchip!

Maui

At just a year and nine months, Sweet Maui is a wonderful boy who, unfortunately, was still too much puppy for his previous older doggie brothers.

Maui is neutered, housebroken, crate trained, microchipped, up to date on his vaccinations, and knows basic commands … WOW!. He loves playing with other dogs and kids but jumps when he gets excited so may do better with older children.

Flynn is a four-year-old McNab (or Decker Hunter) Terrier/Border Collie mix. He’s been with his last person since he was a puppy and has been well-loved but his owner could no longer provide him with the care and attention he needs and sadly brought him to us.

Flynn gets along well with other dogs and is well-socialized with people (including children) but hasn’t yet been tested with cats. He loves a good game of tug or a puzzle feeder to encourage his curiosity.

Flynn

Flynn is a picky eater and guards his food. For some reason, he is afraid of delivery trucks and some men. Unfortunately, this breed sheds more than most so his new adopter will need to be prepared.

A quick Google search on this breed shows they are affectionate, inquisitive, loving, alert, lively, active, intelligent, fearless, and playful dogs who tend to have separation anxiety when their owners leave them alone at home because they bond very closely with them.

Quincy

Although she isn’t doing the full husky howl yet, baby Quincy is already very talkative and she has plenty of important things to say.

Born May 31st, she’s almost … but not quite … house trained. She loves water and would be so happy with an adopter who doesn’t mind snuggling a wet girl! She has fun with dogs of all sizes and even gets along with cats!

Quincy’s going to make a great family dog but her puppy teeth are razor sharp and she likes to bite so she should be fully supervised around kids. She needs lots of chew toys until those big-girl teeth come in.
