Washington County and the City of Hurricane have commissioned an in-depth feasibility study to research and report on outdoor sports facilities throughout Washington County. The results of the study will help determine the potential need for a regional sports complex to be located near the Sand Hollow Resort in Hurricane.
Sports teams, coaches, parents of team participants, and the general public are encouraged to complete an online survey at research.net/r/HurricaneSportsComplex.
The feasibility study will research and report on all sports-related facilities, current and planned, located throughout Washington County. The St. George Area Convention and Tourism office and the newly formed Washington County Sports & Outdoor Recreation Office have both stated that such a facility as a Hurricane regional sports complex can be a major benefit to bringing new forms of visitors to the region, resulting in a positive economic impact through increased demand for hotels, restaurants, and other visitor-related business.
