For the 13th year in a row, Rattlin’ D Playhouse brings its popular Valentine’s variety show, My Funny Valentine, back to audiences in Hurricane. Known for its blend of music, comedy, and hearty comfort food, the family-owned dinner theater continues a tradition that has become a seasonal favorite for Southern Utah audiences.
Founded by the Durrant family after relocating from Idaho 13 years ago, Rattlin’ D Playhouse has steadily grown a loyal following. Owner Drew Durrant credits that growth to consistency, community support, and a clear vision for the experience they offer. The playhouse prides itself on delivering family-friendly humor that remains genuinely funny, paired with a prime rib dinner that has become part of the show’s appeal.
The production is staged on the campus of Utah Prep Academy, where the 330-seat dinner theater regularly sells out during its limited seasonal runs. Performances are offered only during the Christmas season and throughout February, making My Funny Valentine a special, time-bound event each year.
The 2026 cast features a mix of local and international performers with extensive stage experience. Rachel Peterson, Danna Richards, and Tabitha Bradley anchor the female side of the ensemble, joined by Stephen Michaud, Skyler Scott, and Durrant himself. Songs, skits, and comedy numbers are all centered on the theme of love, delivering a lighthearted Valentine’s experience designed to entertain a broad audience.
Rattlin’ D Playhouse has also drawn attention beyond Southern Utah. Last year, Merrill Osmond attended a performance and later praised the production, calling it one of the best-produced and funniest shows he had seen.
During the summer months, the Durrant family operates Yellowstone Playhouse in Island Park, Idaho, carrying the same blend of food and humor to a different audience.
