St. George Polar PlungeThe Independent

Take a Polar Plunge and help the Utah Special Olympics. The St. George Polar Plunge is going to be on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 10 a.m. being held at the St. George City Pool located at 250 East 700 South. Registration begins at 9 a.m. at the pool. This is the third Polar Plunge during Special Olympics Utah’s 2015 Polar Plunge season supported by Utah’s Law Enforcement.

Anyone with a little guts and a warm heart who wants to support Special Olympics can register HERE for the 2015 Polar Plunge Kit.

Utah athletes are welcome to take the plunge individually or with a team. In past years, plungers have included students, mayors, police chiefs, sheriffs, deputies, corporations, organizations, clubs, families and co-workers, among others. In 2014, more than 1,000 people took the plunge for Special Olympics Utah. Those who want to participate but don’t want to take the plunge can donate to join the Chicken Coop.

The Polar Plunge is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations and businesses to support Special Olympics Utah athletes by raising money to jump into frigid water. Participants must raise a minimum of $50 to plunge, and there are additional incentives for plungers and teams who raise even more money.
