Renowned Dance Troupe to Present ‘Quinto Elemento’ Flamenco Experience at Utah Tech

– By Cami Cox –

On March 26, Utah Tech Live will present “Quinto Elemento,” a flamenco experience choreographed by award-winning, internationally acclaimed artist Patricia Guerrero and featuring six dancers from the Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana dance company. The performance will take place at 7:30 PM on the Eccles Mainstage Theatre at Utah Tech University.

Featuring masterful choreography and original live music, “Quinto Elemento” explores the mystical “fifth element” of ether, the essence comprising the space around us – unseen by the human eye yet always present. The performance will showcase original music by Grammy-nominated composer Jose Luis de la Paz.

Based out of New York City and Durham, North Carolina, Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana is one of America’s premier flamenco companies. The company celebrated its 40th year in 2023 and travels the nation to promote flamenco as a living artform and an important component of Hispanic heritage. The dance troupe’s founder Carlota Santana was honored by the king of Spain with “La Cruz de la Orden al Merito Civil” for her dedication to preserving the art of flamenco in the United States.

Tickets for “Quinto Elemento” can be purchased online; in person at the ticket office, located on the first floor of the Holland Building at UTU; or by calling 435-652-7800. For additional information, visit utlive.org or email boxoffice@utahtech.edu.
