If you’re a bicyclist looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of busy streets, you may want to break away and enjoy one of three rides of varying lengths with Ride the Gap on Saturday, June 6. Sponsored by Red Rock Bicycle Company, Ride the Gap will take you back in time in the Parowan Gap. Early bird discounts on registration ends on Sunday, May 24.
This is a ride that has been untouched by time. With roads that are sparsely traveled, you can experience beautiful landscapes and true freedom. The Parowan Gap has sparked imaginations for thousands of years, from Spanish explorers to American pioneers to modern day visitors. Ride the Gap will offer opportunities to see an amazing display of petroglyphs estimated to date back as far as 1000 years, depicting stories of ancient life and cosmic phenomena that make the Parowan Gap such an important piece of Native American lore.
Ride the Gap will have three distances available for choosing depending on your desired riding experience: 30 miles, 55 miles, and 100 miles. All routes will start at the Lions Park in Parowan. More information on the individual routes can be found at www.redrockbicycle/event/the-gap/.
Participation will max out at 400 riders, so register early to save your spot. The 30-mile ride is $50, the 55-mile ride is $70, and the 100-mile ride is $80. Registration will include a homemade ice cream social the evening before the ride, lunch on the day of the event, a Ride the Gap event medal, and Ride the Gap custom trucker hat. Get $10 off your cost if you register by the end of the day on Sunday, May 24.
Do not get too caught up in the rush of life and enjoy the ride. For more information, including registration, a slideshow, and FAQ, visit www.redrockbicycle/event/the-gap/.
