In a weekend filled with tributes, slick hair, and hip-thrusting action, CasaBlanca Resort held its annual Elvis Rocks Mesquite June 15–17. While 19 tribute artists from around the world graced the stage, donning their best Elvis fashions and singing their favorite tunes, Robert Washington of Auburn, Maine was named Elvis Rocks Mesquite 2017 Grand Champion.
The contest consisted of three preliminary rounds: ‘50s, ‘60s, and ‘70s. Finalists from each preliminary round moved into the final round. A total of $10,000 in prize money was awarded to the winners:
—Grand Champion: Robert Washington, Auburn, Maine
—Second place: Jacob Roman, Glendale, California.
—Third place: Jim Westover, Arizona City, Arizone.
—Fourth place: Tony “E” Freitas, Oakdale, California
