Robin Hood the Musical

The Independent

From March 26 through April 11, Mon – Sat at 7:30 p.m. and matinees at 3 pm on Saturdays, Robin Hood will be playing at the Hurricane Community Center located at 63 S 100 W Hurricane, UT.

A rogue and a thief, Robin of Locksley is no hero. He’s an idea man who’s long been looking for a way to hit the “jackpot.” When he and Jonny go into Nottingham town to pick a few pockets, and they hear the townsfolk crying out against the Sheriff’s latest tax-hike, Robin gets his big idea. “His plan is to take the money and run,” says librettist Tony Cobb. “And it all works out just the way he planned- until, of course, the woman comes along.”

Robin Hood, The Musical is the story of a man who must discover what the true jackpot is. And when he does, he sacrifices all for that jackpot, and truly does become a hero….whether he wants to or not.

Directed by Pam Lockwood, this production stars actor/filmmaker Dan Fowlks as the cunning Robin and lovely Emily Forsyth as Marian, the maiden who changes his life. Actor and media personality, Sheldon Demke will be featured as the fun-loving Friar Tuck.

Karrol Cobb is a seasoned composer with a number of musicals to his credit. His work includes such projects as The Medicine Show and The Light Express as well as productions with brother, and award-winning librettist, Tony Cobb that include Robin Hood, The Musical, The Parables, The Heart of a Prince and The Promised Land. Tony also wrote the music and libretto for the highly acclaimed musical, Tristram and Isolde.
