Run The Canyon And Experience Southern Utah’s Fastest And Most Scenic Downhill Race
Cedar City, Utah – September 7, 2024 – There’s still time to sign up!
Get ready to race! It is not too late to sign up for Southern Utah’s fastest and most scenic downhill race. On Saturday, September 7, the Cedar City Half Marathon and Adventure 5K will be in full swing. The community is encouraged to cheer on runners and participate in the finish line festivities. There will be great food, photo opps, and live music until 11 a.m. by popular Vegas-based ‘90s cover band “Empire Records.”
The 15th annual running of the Cedar City Half Marathon down Cedar Canyon will feature plenty of pleasant surprises and one of the most spectacular downhill closed canyon runs ever.
The race will start at Woods Ranch and follow the Coal Creek Trail System down the canyon until the finish line at Bicentennial Park in Cedar City. 5k runners will begin to finish around 7:15 a.m., and Half Marathon runners will begin to finish just after 8:00 a.m. Award ceremonies will take place at 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Participants will not have to worry about traffic, as Cedar Canyon will be closed to all vehicles. Residents and locals should anticipate increased visitors and road closures beginning at 6 a.m. on Saturday, September 7. Cedar Canyon will re-open by 10:30 a.m.
