Sand Hollow Marathon one of Utah’s most scenic marathons

When thinking of the Sand Hollow Marathon in Hurricane, miles of jaw-dropping scenery come to mind. Runners from around the region will get to experience all of it this March 9 as they set to accomplish their goals at the Sand Hollow Marathon.
“The Sand Hollow Marathon is loved by our runners because we do everything we can to make the experience extraordinary,” said race director Chris Mathisen. And it is extraordinary, with a newly developed course starting and finishing in Hurricane, paving a path through and around the beautiful Sand Hollow Reservoir area.
And if it wasn’t unique enough, the race now includes two versions of the half marathon: a fast half and an epic hill-challenge half that includes challenging hills to test the very best of what each runner can give. This is the second year that a half marathon has been added to the event.
Seventy percent of participants come from outside the area, and this year, runners from the region as well as runners from other countries will participate. Marathon organizers stated that their goal this year is to provide the perfect venue for a race. They believe to have the most scenic course of all, making this is a great race with a small town atmosphere.
Volunteers from around the area will also support the event with direction, nutrition, and many words of encouragement to help motivate runners to accomplish their goals.
