Southern Utah may be miles from the nearest coastline, but this April, the ocean breeze will be blowing through St. George—at least in spirit. Book lovers, adventure seekers, and literary enthusiasts have two must-attend events lined up at The Book Bungalow that promise to transport them to different worlds, from the salty seas of New England to the gripping pages of dramatic fiction.

First up, on Saturday, April 19, at 7 PM, travel writer Daniel Seddiqui drops anchor in town to share his latest immersive adventure, Gettin’ Nautical in New England. Seddiqui, known as “the Most Traveled Person in America,” has visited every state more than 20 times, collecting stories and experiences along the way. His newest book dives deep—literally—into New England’s seafaring culture, with hands-on encounters like fishing, ship repair, and even cooking up a mean lobster roll. From the bustling docks of Boston to the sandy shores of Nantucket, Seddiqui captures the essence of maritime life with the same curiosity and energy that have made him a favorite among travel readers.

Then, the following Saturday, April 26, at 7 PM, the spotlight shifts from the high seas to high drama as Christine Dixon and M.C. Topham (Mykalee Mendenhall) bring their captivating fiction to Local Authors Night. Dixon’s novel Tender Was the Lie plunges into the life of a country music star grappling with love, loss, and the relentless media spotlight.

Meanwhile, Topham’s Ice in the Heart is a suspenseful journey of secrets, identity, and unexpected connections. Both authors draw from rich life experiences—Dixon as a former talent agent discovering stars like Mario Lopez and Topham as a dedicated storyteller since her teenage years—to craft narratives that pull readers in and refuse to let go.

These back-to-back literary events will take place at The Book Bungalow, 94 West Tabernacle Street, St. George, UT, offering a chance to meet the authors, hear their inspirations, and pick up a signed copy of their books. Both events are free to attend, and more details can be found at www.thebookbungalow.com. Whether you’re drawn to the call of the sea or the intrigue of a well-spun tale, these author visits are sure to inspire.
