So U Comedy Theater’s Galentine’s Improv
The So U Comedy Theater is looking forward to the new year with two special improv shows! Gather your girlfriends and come out for some giggles on February 15th for Galentine’s Improv, and join in the fun in March for a special Birthday Show!
First up, Galentine’s Improv. February is full of fabulous events for couples and even singles, but this show is all about the ladies! Recent additions to the So U cast roster are ready to showcase their skills for a one-of-a-kind experience.
New to the team is Kellie Plumhof! “When I perform with my fellow ladies of So U, we just get each other. There are shared experiences we all go through as women and finding the humor in them together on stage is something that can’t be beat.” Plumhof started attending community classes at the St George Rec Center offered by So U Comedy, auditioned for the cast, and earned a spot.
Fellow newcomer and talented cast member Laura Schmitt recounts her integration into the group. “Joining So U Comedy reignited my joy and passion for comedy and the stage. It reminded me of the excitement and creativity that comes with performing. I love improvising with the incredible women in this group; they’re some of the funniest, most talented women I know on stage and off!”
Both Kellie and Laura will be performing on February 15th. Galentine’s Improv is not a ladies-only event! Kellie invites all, “Everyone should come to this show, gals and guys, because women should be celebrated and supported, and that’s what this show is all about!”
The month of March marks 9 years of improv in St George from So U Comedy. Join the audience as a cast member for the first OFFICIAL Birthday Show on March 15th at the Electric Theater. Ginger Nelson, a founding member and player said, “We would love to celebrate with everyone! We are so fortunate to still be doing what we love. It will be great to share the moment with our audience and friends.” As always, every show is based on suggestions from (YOU) the audience. Every show is unique and made up on the spot for a never-before-seen experience. Join in the fun for the first or fiftieth time at the birthday show to enjoy some laughs and cake!
Every other Saturday, you can see So U Improv back-to-back for a family-friendly show at 7 PM, followed by the highly attended Uncensored show at 9 PM. All performances are at the Electric Theater in Upper Room 2. Tickets can be purchased online at www.soucomedy.com or at the door.
