Safira
Treats and baby talk are the way to this girl’s heart. Safira can be a bit shy and fearful with people she doesn’t know, but, with a little time and patience, she will give her trust. And, once she trusts people, she loves them. Born in 2011, Safira is an active, playful girl. She loves toys, especially tennis balls and her big Jolly ball. Fetch and swimming are two of her favorite things. Safira has overcome her fear of cars and enjoys golf cart rides around the Sanctuary. She eats a prescription diet and prefers male dogs to other females. She’d love a home with someone who will take the time to get to know her and who will enjoy her playful, silly side.
Lana
There’s definitely a gentle giant in there, and Lana‘s working on bringing it out. She can be apprehensive about certain things, she’s incredibly strong on a leash, and she’ll sometimes try to chase cars. She can also be defensive with barriers, like her gate and her crate, but Dogtown caregivers and trainers are working with her on these things. Once you take the time to get to know her, Lana, who was born in 2013, is sweet and sensitive. She also has great manners and is very smart, with a desire to please her person. If you think you can give Lana the love, support, and guidance she needs, she’d be thrilled to meet you.
Chance
Chance sometimes has a hard time meeting new people and other dogs. He just needs time to build some trust and learn that he is safe. Once that happens, he turns into a loving, cuddly and playful dog. He loves training and is very motivated. He also loves to wrestle and play with his squeaky toys. Born in 2012, Chance is an active boy who would make a great hiking or jogging partner. If you’re willing to take a chance and get to know this loving boy, he promises to make it worth your while.
Jupiter
This handsome tabby acts like he’s nervous when he first meets you, but he really likes to get chin and butt scratches. Jupiter really adores the companionship of other cats and especially likes to cuddle with his best friend Bud. They are both on a wet food diet and are fed three times a day. Born in 2010, he was rescued from a hoarding situation. He is still a bit shy but has really come out of his shell since being at Best Friends. He’s gradually becoming more cuddly and playful and would love to be yours. Jupiter is bonded with Bud and would need to be adopted with him.
Matrix
Matrix arrived from years of living in the desert and was pretty terrified of people. But his caregivers here gave him lots of love, and he’s learned that people aren’t so bad. We think he was born around 2005. He’s healthy and gets along fine with other cats. We think he’d really blossom if a patient person is willing to help him and provide him with catnip and fun toys.
Serena
“Good morning!” Serena greets her caregivers every morning. She lets them know she’s excited to see them by ‘talking’ to them. This adorable little girl appreciates petting from people she knows. It takes her a little time to trust strangers, but if you’re persistent, she’ll warm right up to you. Born in 2007, Serena came to the Sanctuary from Salt Lake City. In good health, she gets along fine with all other cats. Wouldn’t you like to wake up to Serena’s soft face and warm greeting every morning?

Freddie is a fiesta fun pack kinda guy. This cutie loves to play, cuddle and hang out with humans. He would even do well with his very own cat or respectful dog. His adoption fee is $25.
Huck Finn

He will do best as an only cat or with only one other cat in the home. This boy is such a wonderful feline and he deserves a great home. His adoption fee is $25.

Willie
Willie was on his own for a few weeks. He is a loving boy that is a little nervous in his new environment. Once he is out and about, he does great. Willie knows sit, lay down, and he walks very well on a leash. He is a strong, happy dog that loves his belly rubbed. He does well with other dogs and seems to be house-trained. His adoption fee is $60.
Roxie
Roxie is a delightful girl with the most amazing patterned coat and big brown eyes. At 3-4 years old she’s past the puppy stage making her much more obedient and easy to have around. Roxie is friendly with everyone, and can’t wait to find a loving home where she can be part of the family. Her adoption fee is $60.
Tony
Tony is 4 months old. He came to shelter with other kittens at about 2 months of age. He is very shy but loves being held and snuggled. He gets along well with all the kittens and cats at the shelter. His adoption fee is $40.
Bandit
Bandit is 5 months old. He is sweet, calm, and loving, but is a tad shy. He is not really shy by nature, he was a stray before coming to the shelter, and his time on his own has left him with some timidness about strange people and strange surroundings. He is quickly learning to come out of his shell and likes being petted, playing with toys and the other kittens. His adoption fee is $40.
Magnus (special needs)
Magnus has a slight neurological problem. He “wobbles” when he walks, this does not deter him from playing and running and jumping. He is on special medication twice daily to help with his bowels. He is very loving and enjoys being around people and the other cats. He is ready and waiting for the family that will open their home and hearts to this special boy. He is 3 years old. His adoption fee is $40.
Meg
Quiet loving Meg has been waiting forever to find that special home. She loves being brushed and is very talkative. Meg is more comfortable on or under a blanket rather than sitting on your lap. Her adoption fee is $40.

Dom
Dom is the most lovable puppy-dog-eyed Beagle/Bassett Hound blend you’ll ever meet. This low-rider came to live at That BAM Place while suffering from Cherry Eye (it doesn’t look great but is mostly cosmetic) but that is being corrected and, after that, he’ll be ready for his new family. Dom has clearly lived in a home before and has pretty impressive manners (although he does get up on their sofa and is still working on the dog door). Though Dom doesn’t bay like a hound, he has a bit of separation anxiety at the adoption center when he has to be put in his kennel while other dogs are out. This would likely be different in a home environment and they do offer trial placements to make sure their dog is right for you and your home. Dom does not do well with young children. Although Dom gets along with the wide variety of dogs they have in residence with him (often napping with the smallest 6-pound dog), he would enjoy being an only dog as he prefers to be with people over dogs if given the choice. To find out more about Dom or arrange a meeting with him, text or call Julie at (435) 773-5209. His adoption fee is $125.
Butch
Butch joined the BAM family having been labeled a 17-year old dog who was likely more in need of a hospice home than typical rescue. Now that he’s in care and has been seen by their vets, they have the better assessment that he is still a senior but more likely 10-13 years old. Butch, however, has some neurological defects and impaired vision that can make him seem older. In spite of those physical issues, Butch has learned how to cope with two groups of five or more dogs in both his foster home and at their adoption center where he spends most of his days. Butch will often motor around with a funny little wobble but can see shapes or contrast well enough that he doesn’t typically bump into things. Their biggest concern for this little guy is that he ate some gravel and had to undergo surgery to have rocks removed from his system that wasn’t moving either direction. This may be something hell try to do again if unsupervised so they will be quite particular about the home he ends up in to ensure his health and well-being. To find out more about Butch, text or call Julie at (435) 773-5209. His adoption fee is $100 but Butch is also eligible for their Seniors Helping Seniors Program. If you are 65 years of age or older, ask Julie about the program.
Missy
Missy is a gorgeous blue Cane Corso/Pit blend who was very reserved when she first joined BAM but has begun to come out of her shell in foster care. They are sure this means that an adoptive home would get to see even more of her personality shine. Missy would love a person or family that she didn’t have to share with another dog. However, it may just be that she prefers to be the only girl dog in the home, so if you have a male dog and would like to introduce them, they can facilitate that. Missy might look tough but deep down she is just a softy that loves to give kisses and cuddles. She also loves to go on walks and car rides and gets a little sad when you leave her behind. She is very choosy on who her furry house companions are because she likes a lot of love so she does best being the only dog. However, she doesn’t mind other dogs visiting. Missy is 100% potty trained and would be best with older children because she needs a quiet environment. She is a wonderful dog who will be a great addition to someone’s family. Missy is a medium dog with a lot of muscle, so she would be a good exercise companion and it would help her stay fit too. To find out more about Missy text or call Julie at (435) 773-5209. Missy’s adoption fee is $125.
Ruby
This is one darling little Beagle. If you love Beagles, you’ll love Ruby. Still such a sweet girl … even after her trauma. She was injured when she fell from a car (Ruby should always be seat belted!) when she stood up to look out the window and rolled down the automatic window. Her belly and paws were horribly burned when she skidded along the pavement. She’s been in foster care recovering for a while but is looking for a family now. She does still need to have her paws seen by the vet and wrapped for a while longer. For that reason, she’s looking for a foster-to-adopt family. In other words, the family will be a foster family until her final vet check and then will become her adoptive family. To find out more about Ruby, text or call Julie at (435) 773-5209. Ruby’s adoption fee is $125.
Harley
Harley is a sweet, loving, loyal young dog who gets along well with other dogs. He’s a “tweener” meaning he’s between a little dog and big dog and is the perfect size. He is good with older children but how he handles young children is unknown since they have none with whom to test him. BAM believes he would be fine with a child of any age as long as the child is respectful. He is housebroken using a doggy door, crate trained and likes to go for car rides. He still has that puppy energy and his worst habit seems to be jumping when he’s overly excited. His adoption fee is $125. To set a time to meet Harley please text or call Julie at (435) 773-5209.
Princess
Princess could have easily been named after an Egyptian pharaoh with her striking “eyeliner.” This young adult has a lot of life ahead of her and would love to find someone interested in continuing the basic obedience training she’s learning in foster care (she already knows “sit” and has mastered puppy dog eyes). She is a solid girl but not too tall and is as affectionate as she is smiley! Princess enjoys being around her people and will do best in a home without small children. Having another dog as a companion and playmate could be ideal. They aren’t completely sure what breed blend Princess is but did learn in their adoption center that she’s a skilled jumper though she hasn’t displayed the same when around baby gates in her foster home. Given her abilities, a person or family looking for a walking/hiking companion or with a tall-fenced yard for her to be outside off-leash would be best. Knowledge or experience with strong breeds would be a bonus for Princess. Contact Alison by text at (541) 936-1766 (or leave a voicemail for a call back) or email admin@becauseanimalsmatter.com if you would like to learn more or to schedule a meet and greet for you (and your dog).
