Mikey

Mikey was found as a stray. He is very friendly and loves attention. He has a lot of energy and loves to play. He seems to be ok with other dogs.

We think he is approximately 2–3 years old. He is not one to instigate any confrontation with other dogs, but we feel that he would be best in a home without other pets. He is a good boy and would benefit from an experienced dog owner.

Mikey is very independent and dignified. He has shown to be loyal and smart. He is going to make a very good dog for any home willing to give him a chance.

Rod

Rod was found as a stray wearing a collar. He is approximately 2 years old. He has been well cared for and well trained- except that no one came looking for him. He knows all basic commands and loves being with people and playing with toys.

He can be a bit excited when he first gets out of the cage and jump up but we are working on that. Maybe best to be in a home with no small children until he is more comfortable with not jumping up on you.

Leabelle

Leabelle came to the shelter with 3 other cats who had been left in an apartment for about 2 months with only someone coming to feed them. She is extremely shy and will need a calm quiet home.

She loves to be petted and brushed but is afraid of loud noises and quick movements. She is approximately 4 years old.

Amy

I was found as a stray trying to get into someone’s home. If you’re looking for a wise, independent cat, I am for you. I am low maintenance, low fuss = the perfect housemate. I’ve learned how to occupy myself easily over the years, so if you’re after some company without the ‘neediness’ – I am for you!

I am fascinated with the TV in the room and will sit and watch the activity on the screen and also like playing with the long tunnel toy. I will come when called and love attention.

I give head butts and purr constantly and love looking out the window. I will do best as an only cat where I can get all your love and attention.

Bessy

Bessy is a sweet 4-year-old cattle dog mix who was attacked by a larger dog. She was left with major wounds on her neck and face (which have healed). The owners of both dogs wanted to euthanize sweet Bessy, a non-aggressive very submissive sweetheart, but were convinced to surrender her to rescue.

Once PAWS had her in our care, we went to work on healing her wounds and her heart. She had emotionally shut down; she would not eat or move around her kennel. One of our volunteers took her into her home for fostering and started to help her to be a normal loved dog again!

She is spoiled with all the treats, playing ball in the backyard, going on walks, and just getting the best love and care since the attack. Bessy will be the perfect companion for anyone who wants a dog all to themselves to love and cuddle.

She does think she’s a lap dog! Come meet her at our office Tuesday-Saturday 11 am-3 pm.

Charlie

Please come meet me at the PAWS Adoption Center so you can adopt me! I’ve had all my shots and am neutered. I’m ready for my family to adopt me!!

Sam

Meet Sam! He is a 1-year-old Heeler mix. He is the happiest shy doggy and you’ll have a hard time trying not to fall in love with him. He loves to run and wiggle that tail around as fast as the wind!

He is learning commands and manners and is so smart! He walks well on a leash and loves hiking and adventures. He will be a great family dog! Come in and meet this boy at the PAWS Adoption Center.

Gracie

Gracie is a 7-year-old white Tabby who is looking for a new home. She is a big girl weighing 20 pounds but she’s not overweight!

Gracie is so beautiful with her long, soft fur. She is very sweet and social. Her owner passed away recently so she was brought to PAWS.

Socks is downright adorable! No doubt he will grow up to be an extremely handsome adult kitty.

Socks would love to interview you for his forever home!

Sprinkles

With her fur sprinkled with calico colors, little kitten Sprinkles is just as cute as can be!

She’s just over 2 months old and is everything you’d want in a kitten. Playful, adorable, affectionate, and super snuggly, Sprinkles is going to grow up to be a beautiful adult kitty!

Korky

Korky just wants to be wherever you are, and he would be a wonderful feline companion. He’s a sweet little cuddle buddy who loves to snuggle.

Bernie

Playboy Bernie is approximately two years old. He’s a great boy who is a bit of a clutz but who LOVES playing catch (and will play all day!). He’s very affectionate and great with adults and most likely children … we just haven’t seen him with any yet. He’s also super smart and learns commands quickly!

Bernie sometimes gets possessive of his people and toys when other dogs are around so it might be best if he were an only dog. He’s a total love, though, and is going to make someone a wonderful companion.

Bernie was pretty matted when he came to BAM. He may not require professional grooming but his adopter will need to keep him brushed to keep his beautiful coat tangle free. It’s easy, and he’s so happy when he’s being brushed.

Elvis

Five-year-old Elvis is a big galoof who loves everyone he meets (although he didn’t show much interest in cats). He’s a gentle giant who plays well with all sizes of dogs … even the little ones and puppies. He adores kids but can knock a little one over just giving a good sniff. He has an EXCELLENT sniffer!

Although he’s pretty quiet most of the time, the signature hound bay howl comes out when he plays. It’s adorable!

Elvis seems to have some training. He bolted on us once when we first got him but has been great since then. His new adopter just needs to be aware it can happen and they need to keep him safe, especially getting into and out of cars.

Misty

Who would believe this butterball loves to run and then cool off in a cold stream?

Wide as she is tall, chunky monkey Misty is a lot of loving lap dog! She’s also a super sweet girl who gets along with other dogs and probably kids although we haven’t seen her around any yet.

Misty is 8 years old, spayed, microchipped, and current on her vaccinations. She needs an adopter willing to monitor her food and exercise to get her down to a healthier weight.

Rooster

Thought to be around five years old, skinny little Rooster is such an affectionate boy and so much fun to be around. As you can see, he’s a real crowd-pleaser!

Rooster plays well with all dogs, adores kids, and loves to run! He’s housetrained, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and is ready to go!

Ryder

Ryder is about approximately one year old and, as with some other rescues, he has some trust issues. He’s cautious around people at first but warms up and is very sweet and worth a little extra love and affection.

Ryder is just learning what dog treats are for (although he loves deli meat and cheese) and still hasn’t figured out what to do with toys. It didn’t take him long, however, to decide he adores ear rubs and pittie scratches and will snuggle up close to be loved on. He will be exceptionally loyal to whoever adopts him as long as they promise to shower him with all the love every dog deserves.

Ryder gets along well with other dogs but can get a bit possessive of his people so his dog buddies should be introduced properly. He might also take a little time to feel safe in a new yard so supervision is critical in the first weeks.

Ryder will need an adopter willing to give him the attention and love he’s been missing, and patience with him while he learns he’s in a safe and loving environment.

Willy

What a cutie pie! Born around mid-January, little Willy is friendly and playful with other dogs.

Willy is a herding dog so he’ll chase livestock and might be nippy because that’s what cattle dogs are bred to do. It doesn’t mean he’s aggressive but he will need to be trained to tell the difference between people and cows. He could be a great ranch dog with a job to make use of his natural talents. If not on a ranch, Willy will still need a job in a home environment and will be happiest with lots of exercise/hiking/running.

Willy is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations. Because of his nippiness, he would probably do better with older kids.
