Zionsouthern utah adoptable pets Zion

Zion could be described as a diamond in the rough. He is a special guy and the class clown, once he knows you. He had some traumatic experiences in his past that caused him to be nervous in some situations and with new people. He is extremely food motivated and he has worked hard with his caregivers and has blossomed into who he was meant to be. He still takes a little time to trust, but once you have gained it, you are in for life. Once Zion is comfortable with his people, he enjoys walks, golf cart rides, car rides, playing with his stuffed toys, swimming in the pool at the dog park and enjoying a good hang out session on the couch. He approaches life with boundless optimism and loves to play with his people when he is comfortable. If you think that Zion could be a good fit for your family, contact Best Friends today. Zion is anxiously waiting for your call.

Skybarkersouthern utah adoptable pet Skybarker

Skybarker is definitely a lot of personality in one little body.  He can be a friendly, feisty little guy, once he gets to know you. This can take a while, though, so he needs an experienced adopter who will give him the time he needs. He has a heart condition, so he likes to go on short walks; even then, sometimes he asks his caregivers to carry him home. He can be picky about his dog friends, but can live with other dogs and will even play with them sometimes.  Skybarker will definitely make you laugh with his antics. He does require a sanctuary visit to meet him before taking him home, but it’s well worth it to meet this little guy.

Trudysouthern utah adoptable pets Trudy

Sweet, sweet Trudy has so much love to give. At the sanctuary, she greets her caregivers every morning with a wiggly hello, a tail-wag, and a great big smile. When she first arrived, she was very fearful of new people and it took a lot of treats and walks to gain her trust. In the time Trudy has been at the sanctuary, she’s grown leaps and bounds with her confidence in meeting people. While she can still be a bit wary of strangers at first, she quickly warms up and becomes a fast friend. Once Trudy is comfortable, she stays right by your side just waiting for pets and attention. She is also a fantastic co-pilot and settles in on car rides really nicely. For treats, she loves to show off her tricks, like “sit”, “lie down”, and “shake”. Trudy has done really well here living with other dogs and they think she’d like a dog companion or two, although, in the end, most of her attention goes to the humans in her life.

Houstonsouthern utah adoptable pets Houston

Houston‘s eyes are full of wisdom and wariness. She will roll over for belly rubs once she’s comfortable with you, but she needs a patient person who will take the time to get to know her first. Houston is the kind of cat who likes to be petted on her own terms. When she’s in the right mood, she’ll approach you for attention. Born in 2009, she came here from a Utah shelter. She’s great with other cats, and she’d love to find a home with feline friends and lots of cat toys.

Eponinesouthern utah adoptable pets Eponine

Eponine was born in 2011 and came from an animal shelter in California. She is shy when you first meet her, but once she’s comfortable she’ll sit in your lap and be very affectionate. She finds security in a group of other cats, so she’d love to go to a home with other kitties.

Bradiesouthern utah adoptable pets Bradie

Bradie is so friendly! She is exceptionally snuggly and sweet but also loves to run and play. Born in August 2009, Bradie and her siblings came to the Sanctuary from a shelter in Arizona. She’s healthy and gets along great with people, dogs, and other cats. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful kitty, Bradie really needs a home to call her own.

Ladysouthern utah adoptable pets Lady

Meet Lady, a sweet young pup (less than a year) that just wants your love. Lady is loving, playful, and still needs some work on her puppy tendencies. She must have been in some kind of accident in her past as the vet has determined a broken hip that is unrepairable at this point. She walks with a bit of a limp especially after exercise but otherwise gets around fine. At about 30 pounds she is a great size for a family dog and loves children. She is house trained and would be good in a home with other dogs or alone. Get in and meet Lady and see if you don’t fall in love with her.

Finnsouthern utah adoptable pets Finn

Handsome Finn is a big boy who likes people and playing fetch. He is approximately 2 years old, he walks well on a leash and knows some basic commands. Finn is also house trained. He has a gentle, sweet disposition and enjoys hanging out with you. He can be dog selective so if your home has other pups, a meeting or two would be recommended prior to bringing him home. Get in and see if Finn is the dog who makes your family complete.

Smokysouthern utah adoptable pets Smoky

Smoky is a beautiful Siamese and one of the sweetest little cats you will ever meet. He would cuddle his human for hours! Smoky is house trained and would be good in a home with other cats, children or alone. Get in and meet Smoky.

Diegosouthern utah adoptable pets Diego

Cute little Diego came to RSQ with a bad infection in his eye. RSQ had his eye removed and he is doing great now. He is a pretty relaxed, sweet guy. He can be shy at first, but he has a fun personality when he gets comfortable. Diego is house trained. RSQ has kept him separate from other cats while he heals and he is pretty wary of other cats, but that could potentially improve with some patience. This sweet guy is just looking for the furever home he deserves.

Barrysouther utah adoptable pets BARRY

Were you widowed by a grumpy old man? Have you been looking to add another to your life since his passing? BAM has got the dog for you! In all seriousness, little Barry has good reason to be grumpy. He came to BAM with a broken pelvis from a California shelter. Since being at BAM, the poor guy has had to deal with puppies in his space, big dogs who don’t respect him an–adding insult to injury–he now has kidney stones. BAM wants the old guy to catch a break and live out the remainder of his life with someone he can find solace and love. Barry loves to rub his back on the floor and wiggle and loves to have belly rubs. He enjoys certain members of the BAM team while others simply aren’t his cup of tea. To find out more about Barry, meet him and see if he’s a match for you text or call Julie at (435) 773-5209.

His foster mom recently learned he even likes to play fetch! He gets along well with small dogs but generally isn’t a big fan of big dogs. Freddie is housebroken with a dog door and is crate trained. He would prefer a quieter home without small children. To meet Freddie or find out how to adopt him, contact Julie at (435) 773-5209. His adoption fee is $125.

Butchsouthern utah adoptable pets BUTCH

Butch joined the BAM family having been labeled a 17-year old dog who was likely more in need of a hospice home than typical rescue. Now that he’s in care and has been seen by their vets, they have the better assessment that he is still a senior but more likely 10–13 years old. Butch, however, has some neurological defects and impaired vision that can make him seem older. In spite of those physical issues, Butch has learned how to cope with two groups of five or more dogs in both his foster home and at their adoption center where he spends most of his days. Butch will often motor around with a funny little wobble but can see shapes or contrast well enough that he doesn’t typically bump into things. Their biggest concern for this little guy is that he ate some gravel and had to undergo surgery to have rocks removed from his system that wasn’t moving either direction. This may be something hell try to do again if unsupervised so they will be quite particular about the home he ends up in to ensure his health and well-being. To find out more about Butch, text or call Julie at (435) 773-5209. His adoption fee is $100 but Butch is also eligible for their Seniors Helping Seniors Program. If you are 65 years of age or older, ask Julie about the program.
