Henna
Henna is attentive, playful and goofy at times. While she enjoys her walks, hikes and adventures, she also likes a balanced life and enjoys her downtime. Born in 2009, Henna has interacted well with the dogs that she has been introduced to at the Sanctuary. She would do best in a home with experienced dog owners who are willing to continue her present basic training and work with her on reactivity to other dogs and strangers. She is a tad picky when it comes to her dog friends, preferring males. However, if you are up for taking a chance on her, Henna is up for taking a chance on you.
Stitch
People are constantly falling in love with Stitch’s face. They say he looks like a cute gargoyle. Born in 2011, Stitch came to Best Friends from a rescue organization in California. Although he’s had previous heart surgeries, his heart murmur is still a grade five out of six. He takes prescription medication for his heart, and he gets eye drops. Stitch absolutely loves to be around people. He is cuddly, sweet and would make a great couch potato. He can wedge his compact, 60-pound body into his caregivers’ laps and snuggle for as long as time allows. He does get overexcited when he’s being leashed up, so he is working on being calm and not getting mouthy. He does best in calm, quiet environments and when the person leashing him is calm and follows a routine. Stitch does have a previous bite history. He’s also very heat sensitive because of his heart condition and his short muzzle, so it’s important that he goes for walks when it’s not too hot outside. When it comes to other dogs, Stitch can be defensive when he first meets them, but he usually warms up. He’d do best in a home without cats. Stitch does well riding in a car, although he needs a boost to get in. On hotter days, instead of walks, he likes to ride on the golf cart around Dogtown, feeling the breeze in his face. Stitch is crate trained and eats his meals in a crate. Despite his medical challenges, he is friendly and easygoing with the Best Friends veterinary staff and has been great for medical handling here. If you’d enjoy having a cute little gargoyle who’ll curl up with on the couch with you and stroll by your side when it’s cool outside, Stitch may be your guy. Stitch has a couple generous sponsors who will cover a portion of his adoption costs.
Moose
Are you a training wiz looking for your next great pupil? Moose may be your guy! This hurricane Sandy survivor is a dynamo on the agility course, knows a myriad of awesome tricks, and has even learned to read some of his cues off cue cards.
Moose has worked very hard on his life skills here at the sanctuary, and he is ready to go to his forever home! He loves to go on car rides and golf cart rides, for long walks around the trails, and for agility or other training sessions. He’s eager to please and wants nothing more to spend his golden years in a home of his very own.
Clark
Born in 2009, Clark loves head-scratches, chasing a laser light and mealtime. When he arrived at Best Friends in 2014 Clark was very shy and scared but he slowly gained confidence, especially after we moved him into a building with fewer cats. Now Clark is settled in, happy and has been found cuddling with one of his feline friends many times. Clark also has an adorable little chirp noise he makes whenever he is hungry or seeking some affection. This healthy, independent, sweet, handsome boy is looking for a quiet home to live out his senior years.
Willis
Willis is a staff favorite! He has quite the personality and will keep you entertained for hours. Willis is often checking out new items he has discovered or playing with his toys. He knows how to entertain himself and will help entertain you in the process. Willis would make a great addition to a home. Go meet him or ask for more information, he’s waiting for you!
Rhapsody
A sweet, social cat, Rhapsody loves meeting new people. His favorite things include treats, pets, and a warm, sunny spot for afternoon naps. Come pay him a visit–he would love to meet you!

Atlas
Atlas may have been the runt of the litter but he will prove to you that he’s big enough to fill your heart! This darling little guy will be looking for his foster-to-adopt home in just a few more weeks. BAM is taking applications on him at this time so he will be ready to go when the time comes. He is a German Shepherd blend (they are told Catahoula Leopard Dog). Because he is not neutered yet, his placement must be local. His adoption fee is $150 and he will be neutered and current on age-appropriate vaccinations. To find out more about Atlas call or text Julie at (435) 773-5209.
Mahogany
Mahogany is the last of her litter still awaiting her forever home. She is 7 weeks old and will be placed in foster to adopt homes until old enough to be spayed at which point her adoption will become final. For that reason, she will not be placed out of our area. Her mom is a German Shepherd and they are told dad was a brindle Boxer. To meet Mahogany or find out more about the adoption process, call or text Julie at (435) 773-5209.
Missy
Missy is a gorgeous blue Cane Corso/Pit blend who was very reserved when she first joined BAM but has begun to come out of her shell in foster care. They are sure this means that an adoptive home would get to see even more of her personality shine. Missy would love a person or family that she didn’t have to share with another dog. However, it may just be that she prefers to be the only girl dog in the home, so if you have a male dog and would like to introduce them, BAM can facilitate that. Missy might look tough but deep down she is just a softy that loves to give kisses and cuddles. She also loves to go on walks and car rides and gets a little sad when you leave her behind. She is very choosy on who her furry house companions are because she likes a lot of love so she does best being the only dog. However, she doesn’t mind other dogs visiting. Missy is 100% potty trained and would be best with older children because she needs a quiet environment. She is a wonderful dog who will be a great addition to someone’s family. Missy is a medium dog with a lot of muscle, so she would be a good exercise companion and it would help her stay fit too. To find out more about Missy text or call Julie at (435) 773-5209. Missy’s adoption fee is $125.
Barry
Were you widowed by a grumpy old man? Have you been looking to add another to your life since his passing? Have we got the dog for you! In all seriousness, little Barry has good reason to be grumpy. He came to BAM with a broken pelvis from a California shelter. Since being BAM’s care, the poor guy has had to deal with puppies in his space, big dogs who don’t respect him and–adding insult to injury–he now has kidney stones! BAM wants the old guy to catch a break and live out the remainder of his life with someone he can find solace and love. Barry loves to rub his back on the floor and wiggle and loves to have belly rubs. He enjoys certain members of BAM’s team while others simply aren’t his cup of tea. To find out more about Barry, meet him and see if he’s a match for you text or call Julie at (435) 773-5209.
Dom
Dom is the most lovable puppy-dog-eyed Beagle/Bassett Hound blend you’ll ever meet. This low-rider came to live at That BAM Place while suffering from Cherry Eye (it doesn’t look great but is mostly cosmetic) but that is being corrected and, after that, he’ll be ready for his new family. Dom has clearly lived in a home before and has pretty impressive manners (although he does get up on BAM’s sofa and is still working on the dog door). Though Dom doesn’t bay like a hound, he has a bit of separation anxiety at the adoption center when he has to be put in his kennel while other dogs are out. This would likely be different in a home environment and we do offer trial placements to make sure he is right for you and your home. Dom does not do well with young children. Although Dom gets along with the wide variety of dogs they have in residence with him (often napping with the smallest 6-pound dog), he would enjoy being an only dog as he prefers to be with people over dogs if given the choice. To find out more about Dom or arrange a meeting with him, contact Julie at (435) 773-5209 by texting or calling. His adoption fee is $125.
Sabrina
After being hit by a car, little Sabrina spent 8 weeks in a cast while her bones healed. She’s 10 years old but loves to adventure by car, trail, or river. Snuggles are her favorite, but she’s not a couch potato. Sabrina lives with several big dogs and enjoys their company. Never once have they heard her bark. Sabrina would be great in any home but, even with her cast off, she will still need tender care until her bones are strong. Sabrina does require daily medication for an enlarged heart but nothing stops this little dog from living life to its fullest. They are still working on house training, but the process is slow due to her broken bones. Sabrina sleeps through the night without urinating and does not urinate on the carpet but will on tile. Her cast may be at fault, and now with it removed, she’ll be more agile and move more easily. To meet Sabrina or find out more about her, contact Andrea or A.J. at (612) 756-2374. Sabrina’s adoption fee is $100 and she is also eligible for their Seniors Helping Seniors Program.
