Best Friends Animal Sanctuary
Feebee
Feebee is a bit nervous when she first meets strangers, but once she warms up to you, she’s super affectionate and fun. Feebee can be silly, too. She sometimes gets the ‘zoomies’ when she’s around her caregivers and feeling especially happy. She gets equally excited to snuggle or to go for a walk on the trails. FeeBee was born in 2013. She’ll likely have an adjustment period once she gets to her new home, and she’ll need time and patience as well as routine and structure in order to thrive. Feebee also needs a person who can introduce her to strangers safely. At Dogtown, Feebee is working on meeting new people outside of her room, and she’ll need to continue this training in her new home. At the Sanctuary, she’s also working on meeting other dogs to see if she can make dog friends here. Feebee already knows quite a few training cues, and she loves to show off her skills. If you have some time and patience, FeeBee has a lot of potential to share with you.
Tonya
Tonya is an active dog who enjoys going for walks. She also loves to romp around with her many toys and to take dips in her swimming pool. She loves to play fetch, to do nosework (a fun search and scenting sport for dogs) and to play tug as well. Tonya has enjoyed playgroup time with other dogs at the Sanctuary, but she is currently unable to live with other dogs here due to her tendency to guard things like her water bucket, pool and the gate of her yard. During her assessment at Dogtown, she also guarded a high-value treat from people. Tonya will need to find a home with a secure yard, as she has escaped from a four-foot fenced yard in the past. Although she has hip dysplasia, she is very strong and will chase small animals like lizards on walks. At the Sanctuary, Tonya is working on loose leash walking and being calm for harnessing. She is also learning to stay calm at feeding time. Tonya would make a great adventure buddy for someone. She’d be a great hiking partner, especially if you enjoy hiking near water.
Kipnuk
Kipnuk loves people and he loves to play. He has a big purr and he talks; he’ll tell you all about his day. Born in 2015, he came from a California shelter. Kipnuk likes to play with some other cats, but he doesn’t get along with all of them. He particularly doesn’t like many other males. It might be best if he were an only cat since he has Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). Kipnuk is a sweet boy who likes attention from people. He’s looking for someone who is a good listener.
Riley
Riley is shy at first but is learning to love chin scratches and playing. He doesn’t react to other cats, just sniffs “hello” and walks away. Born in 2011, he came to Best Friends from California. Riley would love to find someone who’s willing to play with him all day.
Mister
Mister is a social butterfly. He loves everyone, whether human or feline. Born in late summer 2018, he came from a California shelter. Mister has Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV), so he’ll need to be an only cat or live with other cats who have the virus. He is fun-loving, playful and loves laps. This purr box would be an asset to any home.
RSQ Dogs+
Back in March, RSQ Dogs received a call about a terrible hoarding situation in California. 30 dogs had been living unattended in a motor home. To avoid euthanasia, RSQ took in 6 of these pups. Sweet Chance, a young pup, is still skittish around people but his foster mom is able to hold him and he will eat from her hand. With patience and love, these dogs can become your best friend and most loyal companion. A second chance for a normal life is all that Chance is asking for. A home with no small children would probably be best. As he is staying with a foster family, please give us a call if you would like to meet Chance.
Jude
Jude is a beautiful 1-year-old black lab mix. He’s got a playful personality and loves to have his ‘butt’ rubbed. He walks very well on a leash and seems to know basic commands. Currently weighing 60 lbs, he will be a fairly big boy, a great hiking companion, and somebody’s best friend. Jude is currently staying with a foster family with children, a cat, and other dogs, he is thriving in a home environment. If you would like to meet Jude, please give RSQ Dogs a call.
Tiny
Say hello to Tiny Dancer (just Tiny works fine). She came to RSQ Dogs as her owner could no longer care for her. She is a sweet little Chug who dances in circles when excited. A furever home and someone she can dance for is all Tiny needs.
Naomi
Naomi and her sisters Mia and Shiloh are new to RSQ Dogs! They were born around early September and are the cutest girls. All RSQ cats are microchipped, fixed, and up to date on shots before adoption.
Goldberg
Goldberg is a sweet young cat who is looking for love. All RSQ cats are microchipped, fixed, and up to date on shots before adoption.

Erik
Erik is a beautiful adult Doberman who needs an adoptive or foster home. His adoption fee is $125. To find out more about Erik, call or text Julie at (435) 773-5209.
Sabrina
After being hit by a car, little Sabrina spent 8 weeks in a cast while her bones healed. She’s 10 years old but loves to adventure by car, trail, or river. Snuggles are her favorite, but she’s not a couch potato. Sabrina lives with several big dogs and enjoys their company. Never once have they heard her bark. Sabrina would be great in any home but, even with her cast off, she will still need tender care until her bones are strong. Sabrina does require daily medication for an enlarged heart but nothing stops this little dog from living life to its fullest. They are still working on house training, but the process is slow due to her broken bones. Sabrina sleeps through the night without urinating and does not urinate on the carpet but will on tile. Her cast may be at fault, and now with it removed, she’ll be more agile and move more easily. To meet Sabrina or find out more about her, contact Andrea or A.J. at (612) 756-2374. Sabrina’s adoption fee is $100 and she is also eligible for their Seniors Helping Seniors Program.
Samson
Samson does have permanent luxating patella so should be in a home that has carpet as that will make it easier for him to get around. He’s an adorable and friendly little guy who mostly wants a family and a lap and a bit of playtime. To find out more about Samson, call or text Julie at (435) 773-5209.
Rocky
Rocky is a handsome young dog, dark gray in color and approximately 3 years old. He’s very sweet and loving, and there is no place he’d rather be than in your lap. Although a bit cautious at first, he warms up quickly. He would be ok with older, respectful children but no toddlers, please. Rocky would do best in a home with another dog as he does have some separation anxiety. He knows some basic commands and enjoys trips to the dog park. He walks well on a leash and enjoys car rides. Rocky’s adoption fee is $125. To make an appointment to meet him, contact Phyllis at (435) 705-9227.
Harley
Harley is a sweet, loving, loyal young dog who gets along well with other dogs. He’s a “tweener” meaning he’s between a little dog and big dog and is the perfect size. He is good with older children but how he handles young children is unknown since they have none with whom to test him. BAM believes he would be fine with a child of any age as long as the child is respectful. He is housebroken using a doggy door, crate trained and likes to go for car rides. He still has that puppy energy and his worst habit seems to be jumping when he’s overly excited. His adoption fee is $125. To set a time to meet Harley please text or call Julie at (435) 773-5209.
Princess
Princess could have easily been named after an Egyptian pharaoh with her striking “eyeliner”. This young adult has a lot of life ahead of her and would love to find someone interested in continuing the basic obedience training she’s learning in foster care (she already knows “sit” and has mastered puppy dog eyes). She is a solid girl but not too tall and is as affectionate as she is smiley! Princess enjoys being around her people and will do best in a home without small children. Having another dog as a companion and playmate could be ideal. They aren’t completely sure what breed blend Princess is but did learn in their adoption center that she’s a skilled jumper though she hasn’t displayed the same when around baby gates in her foster home. Given her abilities, a person or family looking for a walking/hiking companion or with a tall-fenced yard for her to be outside off-leash would be best. Knowledge or experience with strong breeds would be a bonus for Princess. Contact Alison by text at (541) 936-1766 (or leave a voicemail for a call back) or email admin@becauseanimalsmatter.com if you would like to learn more or to schedule a meet and greet for you (and your dog).
Chewy
Have you been searching for a compact hiking and/or road trip buddy? Meet Chewy, an energetic 6-1/2-year-old Terrier/Schnauzer blend who loves to be ON THE GO with his favorite human(s) – either on foot or in the car! He is well behaved on a leash, with occasional lapses in judgment when cats or rabbits cross his path. He will “leave it” if you ask firmly and distract him with a treat. Speaking of treats, this little guy is extremely food motivated and has quickly mastered Sit, Down, Play Dead, Dance and Speak! Still working on Fetch and Drop It – thinks it’s more fun to make you chase him. Chewy wasn’t raised with other dogs but meets them politely and several trips to the dog park have shown him finally learning how to play with new friends. They think he would be happy living with another small dog(s). Enjoys greeting most adults. His foster mom only had him around children once and he seemed okay with them but would recommend respectful children for him only. Chewy will do best with at least one at-home human. He gets quite sad and anxious about being deserted if left alone. His preference is to share your bed but will sleep in his crate. If you know terriers, you already know he can display that true terrier stubbornness at times, but treats always help to sway him! To meet Chewy text or call Julie at (435) 773-5209. His adoption fee is $125.

Huey
Huey was a stray. He is an energetic male that is very playful. Huey knows basic commands (sit, shake, and lay down). He can jump/climb fences to go exploring and visiting so you would need a secure yard. He gets along well with the other dogs. His adoption fee is $60.
