Ripley
Tired of going on walks and hikes alone? Ripley to the rescue!! This is a very smart dog who loves to learn – he knows lots of tricks like sit, down, paw, spin, and touch! He has also excelled at agility, which is a great way for him to channel his energy and focus his mind. Ripley loves to splash in the water, and if you have pets to give he will always lean in for more. His caregivers have worked very hard to help this guy learn creative and productive ways to express himself, and he would do best in home with the time to continue helping him learn and grow. *Ripley’s adoption and transport fees are covered by Ruffwear*
Akita
Akita is a sensitive girl who can be shy and fearful of new people. It doesn’t take long to get into her good graces, however. Once you do she’s the sweetest, happiest, most fun-loving dog. Born in 2011, she’s silly, playful and active. Akita has a tendency to guard her food, and she does not do well with cats. She currently lives as a single dog at the sanctuary, and that’s what seems to make her happiest. Do you have room in your heart for a shy, sweet and sensitive girl? If so, Akita would love to meet you.
Duchess
Duchess has a really sweet personality and wants attention and affection from humans. She has also shown good dog skills at the Sanctuary, though she seems to prefer females. Duchess was born in 2016 and came to Best Friends through local animal control. Not much is known about her past other than that she may have growled at men in her previous home. Dogtown caregivers have not seen that behavior here. Since arriving at the Sanctuary, she has been working on socialization with volunteers and other people she doesn’t know to increase her comfort level with strangers. Duchess would love to get to know you and be part of a loving household again.
Licorice
Have you ever looked in someone’s eyes and instantly been hypnotized? Once you meet Licorice you will never be the same. This long-haired beauty will seek out your attention and steal your heart. This cat has it all, now all she needs is you!
Rain
Rain can be hesitant with new people, but it doesn’t take her long to warm up. She’s really very sweet, and you can pet her when you earn her trust. Although she does fine with other cats, she prefers her own company. Born in 2011, Rain came from a shelter in northern Utah. She is a beautiful girl who would love to have a person to call her own. It may take her some time to adjust to a new home, but once she did she would be the sweetest, most perfect companion.
Anna
Anna and Tianna are darling siblings and hard to tell apart. They were born premature and were lucky to survive. Their personalities are very different. Anna is shyer, but if you just sit still she will come up and want to play. These two don’t have to be adopted together, but cats do love to have a friend!
RSQ Dogs+
RSQ Dogs+ is Southern Utah’s newest nonprofit animal rescue group. It is an all-volunteer group dedicated to saving the lives of animals in underserved, rural areas of Washington County. All of the animals in their care are fully vetted including spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchip and any medical care they may need. Echo
Echo is an 8-month-old cattle dog who was found with her brother, Logan, out on the AZ strip. Here is what her foster mom says about her: “Echo is a beautiful, energetic, young sweetheart. Her slender, athletic build is indicative of her instinct-driven need to work with, play with, and please her family. Extremely intelligent! Given the right training and opportunities, Echo’s potential is limitless. She loves being part of the family. She grunts and groans with pleasure when bathed with praise and affection. She is house trained and leash trained. She does ok with small dogs but can get a little rough when playing with them. Her favorite things are playing with water and receiving belly rubs. Once you earn her trust she will give you 100%.”
Logan
Logan is an 8-month-old cattle dog who was found with his sister, Echo, out on the Arizona strip. Here is what his foster mom says about him: “Logan is a marshmallow! Even with his high energy Heeler instincts, he would be content to spend half his time in your lap being loved on. He has a heavier build and a bit of baby fat which makes him extra fun to snuggle. His favorite outdoor activity is playing with and in water!!! Can’t get enough!!! He is sweet with little dogs and is a quick learner. Walks beautifully on a leash and is house trained. He spends his days playing, running around, sleeping, snuggling and doing walk-by lickings every chance he gets! He is a pup and needs lots of good things available to chew on…even then, your sneakers and garden hose need to be put away. He is a sweet young teddy bear ready to bond and love his forever family.”
Thor
Thor is a 4-month-old Dachshund/Poodle mix. He is a very playful puppy who loves attention. He gets along well with other dogs, cats, and children. He is currently in a foster home so if you are interested in meeting him, please fill out an adoption application on our website and we will call you to arrange a meeting.
Bonnie
When RSQ Dogs+ got Bonnie from a rural area, she had newborn kittens and a chemical burn on her back. She had the burns repaired by removing the burned skin, and she has healed wonderfully. Clyde is her kitten, and she also had her own foster kitten that was taken in as a young kitten with no mother. She willingly mothered him and nursed him as well. Her babies are grown and ready for homes and so is she. She is a young, friendly, sweet girl.
Martini
Martini is a friendly kitten looking for her furever home. She was born sometime around May 2019. Martini is house-trained and would be good in a home with other cats or alone.

Snow White
We estimate that this adorable puppy will grow up to be a large girl. She has that cute puppy behavior she is bouncy, active and getting into everything! Snow White is approximately 2-3 months old. Teddy
Meet this adorable fluffball, Teddy. Teddy is oozing with love and happiness. He has blended in fabulously with his foster home but wants to find his forever home ASAP. Is it with you? Teddy gets along great with dogs and cats, people too. Teddy needs regular grooming every 2-3 months to keep his coat magnificent and brushing 1 or 2 times/week. As any good groomer will tell you, shaving double-coated dogs like Teddy is not recommended; however, a shorter cut is ok if preferred. To find out more about Teddy, meet her and see if she’s a match for you.
Text or call, Julie at (435) 773-5209.
Sochi
Sochi is an active young lady that would love to have a family that wants to take her walking, running or hiking with them. She gets along well with other dogs but she is somewhat dominant. If joining a dog sibling, a meet should be scheduled to make sure they are compatible. BAM hasn’t had the opportunity to test her with cats but could make arrangements to do so if wanted. To find out more about Sochi, meet her and see if she’s a match for you, text or call, Julie at (435) 773-5209.
Rigby
Rigby is a very fun-loving, snuggly puppy. She does well with almost all dogs of all ages and sizes and loves to play. She loves kids and does well at respecting kids’ space even avoiding knocking her fosters toddler down. She is crate trained but does have occasional accidents as puppies do as they are learning. She has pretty typical puppy behaviors and does like to chew things so, like any puppy, she’ll need good chew toys and your attention and guidance. To find out more about Rigby, meet her and see if she’s a match for you, text or call, Julie at (435) 773-5209.
Dom
Dom is the most lovable puppy-dog-eyed Beagle/Bassett Hound blend you’ll ever meet. This low-rider came to live at That BAM Place while suffering from Cherry Eye (it doesn’t look great but is mostly cosmetic) but that is being corrected and, after that, he’ll be ready for his new family. Dom has clearly lived in a home before and has pretty impressive manners (although he does get up on BAM’s sofa and is still working on the dog door). Though Dom doesn’t bay like a hound, he has a bit of separation anxiety at the adoption center when he has to be put in his kennel while other dogs are out. This would likely be different in a home environment and we do offer trial placements to make sure he is right for you and your home. Dom does not do well with young children. Although Dom gets along with the wide variety of dogs they have in residence with him (often napping with the smallest 6-pound dog), he would enjoy being an only dog as he prefers to be with people over dogs if given the choice. To find out more about Dom or arrange a meeting with him, contact Julie at (435) 773-5209 by texting or calling. His adoption fee is $125.
Barry
Were you widowed by a grumpy old man? Have you been looking to add another to your life since his passing? BAM has got the dog for you! In all seriousness, little Barry has good reason to be grumpy. He came to BAM with a broken pelvis from a California shelter. Since being at BAM, the poor guy has had to deal with puppies in his space, big dogs who don’t respect him an–adding insult to injury–he now has kidney stones. BAM wants the old guy to catch a break and live out the remainder of his life with someone he can find solace and love. Barry loves to rub his back on the floor and wiggle and loves to have belly rubs. He enjoys certain members of the BAM team while others simply aren’t his cup of tea. To find out more about Barry, meet him and see if he’s a match for you, text or call, Julie at (435) 773-5209.
Missy
Missy is a gorgeous blue Cane Corso/Pit blend who was very reserved when she first joined BAM but has begun to come out of her shell in foster care. They are sure this means that an adoptive home would get to see even more of her personality shine. Missy would love a person or family that she didn’t have to share with another dog. However, it may just be that she prefers to be the only girl dog in the home, so if you have a male dog and would like to introduce them, BAM can facilitate that. Missy might look tough but deep down she is just a softy that loves to give kisses and cuddles. She also loves to go on walks and car rides and gets a little sad when you leave her behind. She is very choosy on who her furry house companions are because she likes a lot of love so she does best being the only dog. However, she doesn’t mind other dogs visiting. Missy is 100% potty trained and would be best with older children because she needs a quiet environment. She is a wonderful dog who will be a great addition to someone’s family. Missy is a medium dog with a lot of muscle, so she would be a good exercise companion and it would help her stay fit too. To find out more about Missy text or call Julie at (435) 773-5209. Missy’s adoption fee is $125.
