Muddy Waterssouthern utah adoptable pets Muddy Waters

Hanging out with people must be one of Muddy Waters most favorite things. Never one to turn down affection, Muddy much prefers people to other dogs. Right now Muddy is working on walking calmly near other dogs and checking in with his handler. He’s catching on quickly and is very smart. Muddy already knows how to sit and he’s learning down. Muddy rides nicely in the car and although he was born in 2010, he’s still up for long walks. Don’t let Muddy’s handsome frosty face fool you, he’s still young at heart and ready to be your new buddy.

Peachsouthern utah adoptable pets Peach

Looking for a running partner? Peach has springs in her legs and can fly high and fast! She loves to run, play, and investigate everything going on around her. Originally nervous around both dogs and people, she’s progressed so quickly that she now loves meeting and playing with new friends and is gaining even more confidence and experience every day. She’s also beautiful and brilliant, having a contagious smile and a keen motivation to learn new things. She can’t wait to be someone’s partner and assist them with all of their daily routines from exercise to daily chores. She’s ready to learn, advise, and encourage with her smiley and sunshiney contributions.

Missysouthern utah adoptable pets Missy

Quiet and demure at first, Missy really shows her active, fun side when she’s out on a walk. Getting leashed up to hit the trails in Dogtown is one of her favorite things. Born in 2010, Missy is still up for fun, excitement, and adventure. She enjoys the company of other dogs and is eager to meet them and get them to play. She’s also respectful of their space if they are not interested in playing. Playing with tennis balls is another one of her favorite activities. Missy does enjoy petting and affection from humans when she initiates it. She’s not a fan of people walking up and cornering her because she finds it scary. Due to this, she would do best in a home with adults who understand and respect her personal space. If you’re looking for a friend who enjoys long walks as well as relaxing after a game of fetch, Missy might be the one for you.

Ricosouthern utah adoptable pets Rico

Rico will greet you at the door. He will fall down at your feet and rub on your shoes until you have no choice but to bend down and pet him. He has chubby cheeks that just call out to be squeezed. Rico is a charmer in every sense of the word. He loves stroller rides and has the best disposition. Rico is FeLv+.

Renegadesouthern utah adoptable pets Renegade

Renegade is a big beauty and personality in a tiny package. Found at an abandoned hotel this girl may be slow to trust, but her love is easily won with slow movements and a bowl of treats. Although she is still adjusting to a life free of hardships, she has been known to lean in for a good chin scratch. Patience will be key in making this sweet girl a part of your home.

Meadowsouthern utah adoptable pets Meadow

Meadow is like a gentle lily pad, floating peacefully downstream. This beautiful tabby/tortie (brown with a hint of red) is a small, unassuming, quiet kitty with a very big heart. She has had some upper respiratory issues but does not currently require any meds. Her occasional, faint sniffles are hard to hear over her loving, enthusiastic purr. She has been fairly easy going with cats and people alike and wants nothing more than a home and a person of her very own.

Domsouthern utah adoptable pets DOM

Dom is the most lovable puppy-dog-eyed Beagle/Bassett Hound blend you’ll ever meet. This low-rider came to live at That BAM Place while suffering from Cherry Eye (it doesn’t look great but is mostly cosmetic) but that is being corrected and, after that, he’ll be ready for his new family. Dom has clearly lived in a home before and has pretty impressive manners (although he does get up on their sofa and is still working on the dog door). Though Dom doesn’t bay like a hound, he has a bit of separation anxiety at the adoption center when he has to be put in his kennel while other dogs are out. This would likely be different in a home environment and they do offer trial placements to make sure their dog is right for you and your home. Dom does not do well with young children. Although Dom gets along with the wide variety of dogs they have in residence with him (often napping with the smallest 6-pound dog), he would enjoy being an only dog as he prefers to be with people over dogs if given the choice. To find out more about Dom or arrange a meeting with him, text or call Julie at (435) 773-5209. His adoption fee is $125.

Butchsouthern utah adoptable pets BUTCH

Butch joined the BAM family having been labeled a 17-year old dog who was likely more in need of a hospice home than typical rescue. Now that he’s in care and has been seen by their vets, they have the better assessment that he is still a senior but more likely 10-13 years old. Butch, however, has some neurological defects and impaired vision that can make him seem older. In spite of those physical issues, Butch has learned how to cope with two groups of five or more dogs in both his foster home and at their adoption center where he spends most of his days. Butch will often motor around with a funny little wobble but can see shapes or contrast well enough that he doesn’t typically bump into things. Their biggest concern for this little guy is that he ate some gravel and had to undergo surgery to have rocks removed from his system that wasn’t moving either direction. This may be something hell try to do again if unsupervised so they will be quite particular about the home he ends up in to ensure his health and well-being. To find out more about Butch, text or call Julie at (435) 773-5209. His adoption fee is $100 but Butch is also eligible for their Seniors Helping Seniors Program. If you are 65 years of age or older, ask Julie about the program.

Missysouthern utah adoptable pets MISSY

Missy is a gorgeous blue Cane Corso/Pit blend who was very reserved when she first joined BAM but has begun to come out of her shell in foster care. They are sure this means that an adoptive home would get to see even more of her personality shine. Missy would love a person or family that she didn’t have to share with another dog. However, it may just be that she prefers to be the only girl dog in the home, so if you have a male dog and would like to introduce them, they can facilitate that. Missy might look tough but deep down she is just a softy that loves to give kisses and cuddles. She also loves to go on walks and car rides and gets a little sad when you leave her behind. She is very choosy on who her furry house companions are because she likes a lot of love so she does best being the only dog. However, she doesn’t mind other dogs visiting. Missy is 100% potty trained and would be best with older children because she needs a quiet environment. She is a wonderful dog who will be a great addition to someone’s family. Missy is a medium dog with a lot of muscle, so she would be a good exercise companion and it would help her stay fit too. To find out more about Missy text or call Julie at (435) 773-5209. Missy’s adoption fee is $125.

Rubysouthern utah adoptable pets RUBY

This is one darling little Beagle. If you love Beagles, you’ll love Ruby. Still such a sweet girl … even after her trauma. She was injured when she fell from a car (Ruby should always be seat belted!) when she stood up to look out the window and rolled down the automatic window. Her belly and paws were horribly burned when she skidded along the pavement. She’s been in foster care recovering for a while but is looking for a family now. She does still need to have her paws seen by the vet and wrapped for a while longer. For that reason, she’s looking for a foster-to-adopt family. In other words, the family will be a foster family until her final vet check and then will become her adoptive family. To find out more about Ruby, text or call Julie at (435) 773-5209. Ruby’s adoption fee is $125.

Harleysouthern utah adoptable pets Harley

Harley is a sweet, loving, loyal young dog who gets along well with other dogs. He’s a “tweener” meaning he’s between a little dog and big dog and is the perfect size. He is good with older children but how he handles young children is unknown since they have none with whom to test him. BAM believes he would be fine with a child of any age as long as the child is respectful. He is housebroken using a doggy door, crate trained and likes to go for car rides. He still has that puppy energy and his worst habit seems to be jumping when he’s overly excited. His adoption fee is $125. To set a time to meet Harley please text or call Julie at (435) 773-5209.

Princesssouthern utah adoptable pets PRINCESS

Princess could have easily been named after an Egyptian pharaoh with her striking “eyeliner.” This young adult has a lot of life ahead of her and would love to find someone interested in continuing the basic obedience training she’s learning in foster care (she already knows “sit” and has mastered puppy dog eyes). She is a solid girl but not too tall and is as affectionate as she is smiley! Princess enjoys being around her people and will do best in a home without small children. Having another dog as a companion and playmate could be ideal. They aren’t completely sure what breed blend Princess is but did learn in their adoption center that she’s a skilled jumper though she hasn’t displayed the same when around baby gates in her foster home. Given her abilities, a person or family looking for a walking/hiking companion or with a tall-fenced yard for her to be outside off-leash would be best. Knowledge or experience with strong breeds would be a bonus for Princess. Contact Alison by text at (541) 936-1766 (or leave a voicemail for a call back) or email admin@becauseanimalsmatter.com if you would like to learn more or to schedule a meet and greet for you (and your dog).

Roxiesouthern utah adoptable pets Roxie

Roxie is a delightful girl with the most amazing patterned coat and big brown eyes. At 3-4 years old she’s past the puppy stage making her much more obedient and easy to have around. Roxie is friendly with everyone, and can’t wait to find a loving home where she can be part of the family. Her adoption fee is $60.

Joeysouthern utah adoptable pets Joey

Joey is a high energy 9-month old who loves to meet new people. He is very bright and quick to learn new things and will do anything you ask of him when it involves getting a treat. He is eager to please people and he knows sit and is learning how to stay and leash walk well. Sometimes he will pull on the leash at the beginning of his walks, but If you have a high energy home with lots of time for walks and snuggles, then this is the puppy for you. His adoption fee is $60.

Banditsouthern utah adoptable pets Bandit(1)

Bandit is 5 months old. He is sweet, calm, and loving, but is a tad shy. He is not really shy by nature, he was a stray before coming to the shelter, and his time on his own has left him with some timidness about strange people and strange surroundings. He is quickly learning to come out of his shell and likes being petted, playing with toys and the other kittens. His adoption fee is $40.

Magnus (special needs)southern utah adoptable pets Magnus 2

Magnus has a slight neurological problem. He “wobbles” when he walks, this does not deter him from playing and running and jumping. He is on special medication twice daily to help with his bowels. He is very loving and enjoys being around people and the other cats. He is ready and waiting for the family that will open their home and hearts to this special boy. He is 3 years old. His adoption fee is $40.

Buddysouthern utah adoptable pets Buddy

Buddy is 14 1/2 years young, he came to the shelter when his owner died. He has been a well-loved and cared for cat all his life. He also has a mellow side when he likes to relax on a chair or, preferably, on your lap; he likes to spend time with his person, being in the same room while you work at the computer, watch TV or read. Buddy plays with the laser and likes to watch the TV in the cat room. His adoption fee is the senior special $20.

Megsouthern utah adoptable pets Meg

Quiet loving Meg has been waiting forever to find that special home. She loves being brushed and is very talkative. Meg is more comfortable on or under a blanket rather than sitting on your lap. Her adoption fee is $40.
