The Southern Utah Heritage Choir invites the community to experience the music of Christmas at “O Holy Night,” presented in the historic St. George Tabernacle on Sunday, December 14 and Sunday, December 21, 2025, at 7 PM. These charming, family-friendly evenings of Christmas music are free to all, offering gifts of harmony and hope during the holiday season.
The concerts feature beloved carols in stunning arrangements designed to comfort hearts and welcome the spirit of Christmas. Audiences will enjoy the jubilant “Joy to the World,” a moving setting of “O Come, O Come Emmanuel,” and the radiant “Angels from the Realms of Glory.” A highlight of the night will be “Silent Night,” featuring guest artist Lucas Darger on solo violin, a moment sure to fill the historic hall with beauty. Other selections include “Still, Still, Still,” “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” “While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks,” and a powerful arrangement of the evening’s signature piece, “O Holy Night.” Closing with the victorious “Angels We Have Heard on High,” the program promises reverence, joy, and exhilarating musical exuberance.

The choir’s featured guest violinist, Lucas Darger, is widely recognized for his musical leadership in Southern Utah. Now in his ninth season as conductor of the Southwest Symphony, Darger has guided the orchestra to seven consecutive “Best of State” awards and significant regional acclaim. His background includes performances with Orchestra Iowa, the Quad City Symphony, the Dubuque Symphony, and the Valley Symphony Orchestra, as well as appearances with Wayne Newton and Mannheim Steamroller.
In addition to his conducting work, Darger is a dedicated educator with a thriving private violin studio and a deep commitment to local arts development. He is a founding board member of the Southern Utah Performing Arts Foundation, which oversees the renovation of the Cox Auditorium, scheduled for completion in 2026 and anticipated to be the premier home for both the Heritage Choir and the Southwest Symphony.
With the pioneer-era Tabernacle glowing in Christmas décor and music filling the air, the Heritage Choir’s “O Holy Night” concerts offer an inspiring celebration for families, friends, and neighbors. Come enjoy the enchantment of the season and share in a memorable evening of spirit, love, and music.
