The Washington County Fair will have all kind of events and performances. The Neil Simon Festival and The Utah Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City are still offering an amazing selection of plays. “Textures Of Life” exhibit
From a babe’s first soft and comforting swaddling to rough and tough yarns and fine linens, the textures of woven threads give our life tactile information and memories. Historic St. George Live
Every Friday and Saturday at 10 a.m., watch historical figures come alive and describe what southern Utah living was like at the turn of the century. This is fun for the whole family. Jean Pyper and Silverwood at The Elk’s Lodge

The Utah Shakespeare Festival presents “Murder For Two”
Everyone is a suspect in this hilarious musical murder-mystery with a twist. In “Murder for Two,” one actor investigates the crime. The other plays all the suspects. And they both play the piano! Don’t miss the fun at this play in Cedar City at the Eileen and Allen Anes Studio Theatre Thursday and Saturday at 2 p.m. This show will run through Oct. 22. Tickets can be purchased at Bard.org
Neil Simon Festival presents “On Golden Pond”
The Heritage Center Theater in Cedar City hosts the Neil Simon Festival’s production of “On Golden Pond.” Come watch this sweet story of a couple’s 48th year of marriage Thursday at 2 p.m. and Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $21 to $26. More information can be found at SimonFest.org.
The Utah Shakespeare Festival presents “Mary Poppins”
The beloved “Mary Poppins” is being brought to the stage, courtesy of the 2016 Utah Shakespeare Festival. Bring the family to this G-rated show in Cedar City at the Randall L. Jones Theater. This is definitely a not-to-be-missed play. Showtimes are Thursday at 2 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m., and Saturday at 2 p.m. Enjoy a night out! Washington County Fair
The ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. All exhibits will open then. Head out to the Washington County Fairgrounds for contests, shows, food, and fun. Live musical performances will play in various areas at various times. For more information, contact the Washington County Fair.
Brigham’s Playhouse presents “Joseph Smith: Praise to the Man”

Neil Simon Festival presents “Brighton Beach Memoirs”
Playing at the Neil Simon Festival, “Brighton Beach Memoirs” is part of a autobiographical trilogy portraying the writer as a young teenager. This play will show Thursday at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Heritage Center Theater in Cedar City. For ticket information, go to simonfest.org.

The Utah Shakespeare Festival presents “Julius Caesar”
Julius Caesar is a fantastic display of political and governmental power. This production is set in modern Italy, which gives the themes a contemporary edge. However, Shakespeare’s language will not be updated. There is some violence in the play. Tuacahn presents “Tarzan”
Tuacahn Amphitheater brings an unforgettable experience to the stage in Disney’s timeless adventure, “Tarzan.” This musical will show Thursdays through Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. through Oct. 12. This is the perfect family adventure for kids and adults. Ticket prices vary from $29 to $79 and can be purchased at the Tuacahn website.

Casablanca presents Mayhem Weekend
The Casablanca in Mesquite hosts Mayhem Weekend starting Friday at 6 p.m. There will be a weigh-in. Admission is free. After that, at 8:30 p.m., there will be a Ring Girl Competition and a free concert by the Spazmatics. The weekend madness continues at 1 p.m. on Saturday with a Pool Party with DJ Juan where you can meet the ring girls. Sunset On The Square presents “Aladdin”
Sunset on the Square happens every second and fourth Friday of the month through Aug. 26. This Friday, “Aladdin” will be showing. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the movie. Arrive early for a good seat and bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and pillows. Pack a picnic-style dinner or purchase snacks from the vendors. Spend a warm and enjoyable evening with the family. Downtown Farmer’s Market at Ancestor Square
One of the favorite Southern Utah Weekend Events, the Downtown Farmer’s Market, is open every Saturday at 8 a.m. to noon in Ancestor Square at 2 W. St. George Blvd. and will run through Oct. 29. The market features live music and an array of vendors. The Downtown Farmer’s Market is a nonprofit project dedicated to promoting the downtown area as well as organic gardening, homemade arts and crafts, and other goods. Year-Round Farmer’s Market in Cedar City
Visit the only Year-Round Farmer’s Market in Utah, a real farmers market that sells only locally produced and grown fruit, vegetables, jam, bread, and other farm products. Zion Canyon Farmers Market

Mutts & Music
Ivins No Kill Animal Supporters is hosting its annual “pawsitively”entertaining “Mutts and Music” benefit on Saturday, Aug. 13, at 1 p.m. at the Tuacahn High School for Performing Arts Hafen Theatre. Actors from Tuacahn’s 2016 Season are donating their time and talent to raise awareness and support for homeless animals. Included will be the “swearing-in ceremony” of “Officer Stitch.” St George police department added a mascot to their department named Sgt. Peanut. The benefit is $5 for children and $15 for adults. The Tinderbox Circus Sideshow at Mike’s Tavern
Tinderbox Circus Sideshow takes a 20th century sideshow and shoves it into the 21st century with its unique take on classic acts of the sideshow. They astound with their daredevil feats and amaze with their original works of music and comedy, including the ever-popular Knife Song. Their show is constantly evolving and growing to exemplify what it truly means to be a weirdo to the masses. Tickets are only $10 and will sell out fast, so don’t wait to get yours.
