Eight Days a Week Student Photography Exhibition

Red Rock Dance Festival
The Red Rock Dance Festival is an eclectic three-day workshop in St. George that includes master classes and a performance by Paul Taylor 2. Red Rock Dance Festival is held June 1–3, times vary. Children’s creative movement art classes
This creative movement class for children provides an opportunity for them to develop movement and learning skills while using their imagination and exploring their playful spirit. The class teaches dance as a beautiful and fun form of expression and communication. It takes place Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Difiore Center. There is a $45 fee. Southern Utah Art Guild presents “Turn Up the Heat”

Art Works Gallery presents “That Looks Sketchy”
The opening reception takes place on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Art Works Gallery in Cedar City showcasing drawings, studies, and sketches rendered in pencil, charcoal, pen and ink, and pastel by local and national artists. Georgefest
Georgefest is southern Utah’s popular outdoor nightlife event. Local residents, artists, and entertainers invite you to gather at the heart of downtown St. George to celebrate the best of southern Utah. Enjoy a free Main Street concert, DJ Spinz Youth Dance Party, and the Jazz Garden at Green Gate Village for adults. Express Yourself Station Paint Party
This fun paint station will be featured near the starting line of the Moonlight Firehose Frenzy. This free event is open to all who want to express themselves with glow-in-the-dark paint with the help of the Children’s Justice Center Friday from 6 to 10 p.m. in the St. George Town Square. Galaxy of Lights Parade
Friday at 9:15 p.m. join the City of St. George for the inaugural Galaxy of Lights Parade, the first and only of its kind in St. George. Gather on Tabernacle Street to witness the Galaxy of Lights Parade. For information, visit City of St. George.
Moonlight Firehose Frenzy 5k
St. George Races and the St. George Firefighter’s Association are joining forces to make one of the coolest 5k’s in town. This 5k will take runners through the streets of downtown St. George. Throughout the course, the St. George Firefighter’s Association will be out with fire trucks spraying water on runners. There will be the option to get wet or to stay dry. A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Utah Burn Center and the St. George Fire Fighters Association. Friday 10 p.m. Registration is $45. Foam Frenzy Party
Foam Frenzy will be at the starting line of the Moonlight Firehose Frenzy 5k spraying foam from their machines, attached to St. George Fire Department ladder truck, onto the runners. There will also be a foam pit at the main stage of Georgefest after the 5k race. The foam pit will be free to enter. There will be foam machines on the ground as well as suspended by fire truck ladders. Music will be provided by DJ Jake. St. George Town Square. Hawaiian Night themed West Coast Swing Community Dance
Get ready for some fun with instructor and DJ, Neil Duncan–a gold-level instructor. Music for the dance will primarily be pop-music that has sassy rhythms. Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Electric Theater. There will be a 30-minute West Coast Swing lesson followed by open dancing. Please access the event from the theater’s back parking lot, located at 45 S. Main St. $8 per person. No partner is needed. Many single-dancers attend, and many rotate. Game Night at Toadz

Zion Canyon Farmers Market
The 2017 season is Saturdays May 6–Oct. 14, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to noon on the lawn of the Bit and Spur Restaurant and across from the Switchback Grille and Holiday Inn Express. The market was developed to provide a place for local farmers, backyard growers, and producers to sell their goods directly to consumers, to educate the consumers about local farming and seasonal eating, to encourage and promote the use of locally grown farm products, and to enhance quality of life in southern Utah by providing a community activity that fosters social gathering and interaction. Year-Round Farmer’s Market in Cedar City
Visit the only year-round farmer’s market in Utah, a real farmers market that sells only locally produced and grown fruit, vegetables, jam, bread, and other farm products. Tie dye fundraiser party
Who’s looking to get groovy this weekend? Slide thru and hang out for Even Stevens tie dye community fundraiser for the Doctors Volunteer Clinic of St. George. Every Saturday from 4 to 9 p.m., the Kanab Outdoor Market will feature the usual farmers market offerings as well as food trucks. Free classes such as yoga or Zumba will be offered at 4 p.m., and live music will be performed from 7 to 9 p.m. There is no fee for vendors to participate, although anyone offering baked goods must have a cottage kitchen license.
