Michael Plyler Special Exhibit
“Zion Canyon: A Storied Land” is an exhibit by photographer Michael Plyler that highlights the beauty of our neighboring Zion National Park. This special exhibit is being presented to celebrate the National Park Service centennial. Regular admission fees apply. This exhibit will be on display daily through Oct. 31. at Frontier Homestead State Park.
The Utah Shakespeare Festival presents “The Cocoanuts”
The Utah Shakespeare Festival presents “The Cocoanuts” at the Randall L. Jones Theater in Cedar City. This theatrical comedy plays Friday at 8 p.m and Saturday at 2 p.m. For more showtimes and ticket information, visit bard.org.
Brigham’s Playhouse presents “110 In The Shade”
“110 In The Shade” is a musical adaptation of the play “The Rainmaker.” This fantastic musical will show Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. through Sept. 17. Ticket prices range from $17 to $23. For showtime and ticket information, go to Brigham’s Playhouse online.
The Utah Shakespeare Festival presents “Murder For Two”
Everyone is a suspect in this hilarious musical murder-mystery with a twist. In “Murder for Two,” one actor investigates the crime. The other plays all the suspects. And they both play the piano! Don’t miss the fun at this play in Cedar City at the Eileen and Allen Anes Studio Theatre Thursday at 8 p.m. This show will run through Oct. 22. Tickets can be purchased at Bard.org
The Utah Shakespeare Festival presents “Much Ado About Nothing”
This is a classic romantic comedy with two of Shakespeare’s most beloved characters, Beatrice and Benedick, who battle it out in a contest of wits — until they land in each others’ arms. Don’t miss the fun at this play in Cedar City at The Engelstad Shakespeare Theatre Thursday at 8 p.m. This show will run through Sept. 8. Tickets can be purchased at bard.org
Tuacahn presents “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”
Come see the Tuacahn amphitheatre transformed into 15th century Paris and follow Quasimodo on his adventure. Parental discretion is advised as “The Hunchback Of Notre Dame” portrays mature themes. Tuacahn presents “Tarzan”
Tuacahn Amphitheater brings an unforgettable experience to the stage in Disney’s timeless adventure, “Tarzan.” This musical will show Thursdays through Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. through Oct. 12. This is the perfect family adventure for kids and adults. Ticket prices vary from $29 to $79 and can be purchased at the Tuacahn website.
St. George Musical Theater presents “Into The Woods”
Into The Woods brings your favorite stories together in this rare and enchanting musical. The story follows a baker and his wife who wish to have two children: Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s festival, and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results. This is an exciting tale for the whole family. The Utah Shakespeare Festival presents “Mary Poppins”
The beloved “Mary Poppins” is being brought to the stage, courtesy of the 2016 Utah Shakespeare Festival. Bring the family to this G-rated show in Cedar City at the Randall L. Jones Theater. Zion Matrix
Shaman’s Dream is a mixture of world renowned musical recorded artists, co-created by Craig Kohland, Rara Avis, and Ixchel Prisma. Together they weave nature, musical sounds, powerful vocals, and a spectacular shamanic visionary experience. “Snapshot 1880’s — The Way Our Pioneers Worked in Washington County, UT”
Silver Reef Museum’s and DUP McQuarrie Memorial Museum’s collaboration “Snapshot 1880’s — The Way Our Pioneers Worked in Washington County, UT” is on display in the Arts to Zion Showcase. Visit during George Streetfest from 7 to 9 p.m. and see Sandra Sandberg of the St. George Weaving Studio create textiles. Go to Gallery 35 in St. George’s Historic District.
Shawn Gallaway Concert
Shawn Gallaway will be sharing his message of healing through the arts in St. George Friday, Sept. 2, at 7:30 p.m. at The Electric Theater. Tickets can be purchased on EventBrite.com as a donation to Switchpoint Community Resource Center.

Downtown Farmer’s Market at Ancestor Square
One of the favorite Southern Utah Weekend Events, the Downtown Farmer’s Market, is open every Saturday at 8 a.m. to noon in Ancestor Square at 2 W. St. George Blvd. and will run through Oct. 29. The market features live music and an array of vendors. The Downtown Farmer’s Market is a nonprofit project dedicated to promoting the downtown area as well as organic gardening, homemade arts and crafts, and other goods. The market accepts the Horizon Card and participates in “Double Up Bucks” offered through a grant from Utahns Against Hunger. Come to the market and shop for farm-fresh produce with your Horizon Card and Double Up Bucks will match what you spend up to $10 each Saturday.
Year-Round Farmer’s Market in Cedar City
Visit the only Year-Round Farmer’s Market in Utah, a real farmers market that sells only locally produced and grown fruit, vegetables, jam, bread, and other farm products. Zion Canyon Farmers Market

“Sanctuary: The Story of Zion”
Dixie State University and The Red Rocks Arts Cooperative present “Sanctuary: The Story of Zion,” a heartfelt musical celebration of a national treasure.
