Michael Plyler special exhibit
“Zion Canyon: A Storied Land” is an exhibit by photographer Michael Plyler that highlights the beauty of our neighboring Zion National Park. This special exhibit is being presented to celebrate the National Park Service centennial. Regular admission fees apply. This exhibit will be on display daily through Oct. 31. at Frontier Homestead State Park.
“Go Out & Play” exhibit
“Go Out & Play” is an exhibit of many local and original artists from the southern Utah area. The event features Karen March, Professor McGarren, Jodi Fuller, Dan Whalen, Dan Lewis, Fiona Phillips, Julie Rogers, Larry Winborg, Jeremy Winborg, and Kirk Parkinson. The exhibit aims to inspire a sense of wonder, creativity, and natural curiosity. This free exhibit shows 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily until Nov. 11. The Utah Shakespeare Festival presents “Murder For Two”
Everybody is a suspect in this hilarious musical murder-mystery with a twist. In “Murder for Two,” one actor investigates the crime. The other plays all the suspects. And they both play the piano! Don’t miss the fun at this play in Cedar City at the Eileen and Allen Anes Studio Theatre Thursday and Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m., and Friday at 8 p.m. This show will run through Oct. 22. Drew and Lacey Williams with Mikalene Ipson at Ancestor Square
Drew and Lacey Williams team up with Mikalene Ipson to perform at Ancestor Square, Thursday at 7 p.m. for the Ancestor Square Fall Concert Series. Admission is free. For more information, contact the Southern Utah Songwriters Association.
The Utah Shakespeare Festival presents “Cocoanuts”

Tuacahn presents “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”
Come see the Tuacahn amphitheater transformed into 15th century Paris, and follow Quasimodo on his adventure. Parental discretion is advised as “The Hunchback Of Notre Dame” involves mature themes. Tuacahn presents “Tarzan”
Tuacahn Amphitheater brings an unforgettable experience to the stage in Disney’s timeless adventure, “Tarzan.” This musical will show Thursday through Saturday at 8:30 p.m. through Oct. 12. This is the perfect family adventure for kids and adults. Ticket prices vary from $29 to $79 and can be purchased at the Tuacahn website.
“Sanctuary: The Story of Zion” at the O.C. Tanner Amphitheater

St. George City Marathon activities
One of the top 20 marathons in the country, this marathon begins in Pine Valley and ends in St. George at Vernon Worthen Park. This is a fun, scenic race that will start with a banquet, an expo, and other fun activities that will continue during the marathon at the Dixie Center. “Makers: Women in Politics”
This is a community celebration and fundraiser for Dorothy Engelman, candidate for Utah Senate. “Makers: Women in Politics” is a one-hour documentary that explores the challenges confronting American women in politics as they shatter the glass ceiling. “DJ Spinz” at The One and Only

Downtown Farmer’s Market at Ancestor Square
One of the favorite Southern Utah Weekend Events, the Downtown Farmer’s Market, is open every Saturday at 8 a.m. to noon in Ancestor Square at 2 W. St. George Blvd. and will run through Oct. 29. The market features live music and an array of vendors. The Downtown Farmer’s Market is a nonprofit project dedicated to promoting the downtown area as well as organic gardening, homemade arts and crafts, and other goods. Year-Round Farmer’s Market in Cedar City
Visit the only Year-Round Farmer’s Market in Utah, a real farmers market that sells only locally produced and grown fruit, vegetables, jam, bread, and other farm products. Zion Canyon Farmers Market
The Zion Canyon Farmers Market is one of the southern Utah weekend events you don’t want to miss! It is located on the lawn of the Bit and Spur Restaurant at 1212 Zion Park Blvd. in Springdale. Cedar City Junior Ballet auditions for “Sleeping Beauty”
Auditions for “Sleeping Beauty” will be held Saturday starting at 10 a.m. at the Cedar City Junior Ballet studio in Cedar City. The audition schedule is as follows:
—10–11 a.m. for children 4–7 years old.
—11 a.m.–Noon for children 8–12 years.
—Noon–3 p.m. for teens, adults, pointe dancers, and men.
