The Southwest Symphony is raising the curtain on its 2025–2026 concert season, promising a year filled with unforgettable performances that span timeless classics, holiday traditions, thrilling storytelling, and powerful American works.

The season begins September 12 with Ivory and Fire, an opening night designed to ignite both elegance and intensity. Acclaimed pianist Henry Kramer will join the orchestra for Rachmaninov’s beloved Piano Concerto No. 2, paired with the shimmering magic of Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite.

A Season of Highlights

  • Moonlight and Mayhem: Halloween Spooktacular (Oct. 2–3, 2025) — A playful and spine-chilling mix of eerie classics and crowd favorites.
  • Young Artist Competition Finalist Showcase (Nov. 6, 2025) — A spotlight on the region’s most talented young musicians.
  • Handel’s Messiah (Dec. 5–6, 2025) — The iconic oratorio, performed with Lieto Voices and guest soloists, continues as one of Southern Utah’s most cherished holiday traditions.
  • Arabian Nights (Feb. 6, 2026) — Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade whisks audiences into the exotic tales of the Arabian Nights, highlighted by the Young Artist Competition Gold Medalist.
  • Mozart’s Requiem (Mar. 27–28, 2026) — A moving collaboration with the St. George Chamber Singers on Mozart’s masterpiece of reflection and hope.
  • Voices of Freedom (Apr. 24, 2026) — A patriotic finale celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with works by American composers and beloved favorites.
