St. George Family Festival Health Event

On Saturday, Jan. 9, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Utahns living in Washington County can get free help finding health insurance that works for them at the St. George Family Festival and Health Event, sponsored by the Southern Utah Pacific Islander Coalition and Take Care Utah. The St. George Family Festival and Health Event will be held at the Washington City Community Center Reception Center, located at 350 N. Community Center Drive in Washington.

The St. George Family Festival and Health Event takes place three weeks before the end of the open enrollment period — Sunday, Jan. 31 — to sign up for new and affordable health insurance plans. At Saturday’s event, families can investigate new health insurance plans and benefits, learn if their kids qualify for Medicaid or CHIP insurance, and discover if they qualify for financial assistance to make their insurance more affordable. Trained experts will be available to answer questions and sign people up for a plan that works best for them. All services are free, and a free lunch will be provided as well as a bounce house and prize giveaways.

In addition to the St. George Family Festival and Health Event — or for those who cannot attend — Utahns can find free assistance from Take Care Utah’s more than 100 enrollment experts located across the state. To find the nearest enrollment assistant, go to takecareutah.org and enter a ZIP code, or call 211, the free information line operated by the United Way of Salt Lake City.
