ST. GEORGE — As the St. George Museum of Art celebrates its 35th anniversary, the institution is marking a new era with a refreshed name, brand identity, and upcoming exhibitions.
Formerly known under a more general title, the museum now embraces a naming convention in line with other leading institutions in Utah and across the country.
“This change marks a new chapter in the museum’s history,” said museum manager and curator Meagan Evans. “It reflects a renewed commitment to excellence in programming, curatorial practice, and meaningful community engagement.”
Along with the new name, the museum unveiled a logo designed to incorporate the City of St. George’s branding while paying homage to the building’s historic architecture. The emblem features one of the museum’s iconic alcoves as a visual element, symbolizing the institution’s connection to civic pride and its role as a cultural landmark.

The new branding was developed in-house by museum staff members KC Carter and Michelle Cole and approved by the St. George City Council on August 14, underscoring the city’s ongoing support for arts and culture.
While preparing for the transition, the museum temporarily closed its doors to install two new fall exhibitions:
-
Selfie and the Soul: An Exploration of Accidental Art in the Digital Age by local artist Kirsten Holt Beitler.
-
Heaven and Earth: Attached by One Pillar by artist Stephanie Leitch.
The museum will reopen September 6 with a special evening open house from 5 to 8 p.m., including an Artist Talk with both featured artists at 5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, with donations encouraged. Regular operating hours will resume Tuesday, September 9.
